Bit of a dead horse but I though I'd share my discoveries over the past few weeks.

I play KTera in between betas and noticed that I was maxing in combat at about 40 FPS with no other PC on the screen, and maxing in total at 80 using an EVGA GTX 560 2GB. Now, this is very acceptable, but I wanted to push! So (after sweet talking the wife), I purchased my second 560 (exact same card).

I saw almost no gain when adding the second card, no matter I did. The only difference was my cards were working cooler than before. There was, however, no noticeable FPS increase.

I was also running with PhysX on my first card (NVIDIA recommended settings, hmmmm...) and have just switched to letting my CPU handle PhysX (i7 2600k @ 3.40 GHz) and if people are interested in the gain, if any, I'll post here.

Hoping to get this thread started again, would really like SLI support for Tera! I drop down to 15 FPS in PvP and, like everyone else, almost unplayable in the beta stress test events even with settings at 1.

I've googled and found about 2-3 topic with conflicting replies (users saying it does, and users saying that there is no noticeable difference on the korean servers). Does Tera actually support SLI? I purchased another GTX 460 yesterday and it'd be a waste if it didn't.

Its un real so yes.
Get yourself a par of GTX560s and go hardcore graphics with 3screens. :D

From what I understand everybody is wasting their time beating up their hardware (buying new stuff, overclocking, SLI CFX etc) trying to get the FPS not to drop.

It happens on the best set ups when there are a lot of players in one area, and even more when there are tons of players and mobs. Anybody who participated in the stress tests knows this now.

It's why there are frame drops in Velika in TERA and why there are frame drops in the homelands on Aion.

Someone in another thread bluntly said it best "TERA is badly optimized". It's not us, it's something they have to fix or maybe give people a 64bit client to take advantage of more ram. I think it will be address in due time.

When I had mine, TERA kept on crashing, I had to get rid of my second card so it wouldn't randomly crash. I removed my other card, and disabled CrossFire, problem was gone :/

I went with SLi-ing my GTX460 since I wanted to get some more performance mileage for a couple more years when Maxwell Architecture GPUs come out later
But from my experience, it is always a better idea to get one mid or high powered GPU compared to getting two low/mid power GPUs

I am having horrible SLI performance with GTX 680's. I get much better performance with a single card.

CrossFire user here.

Upon release of 12.4 Catalyst with CAP1, http://twitter.com/#!/catalystcreator says

"Note - TERA will not have a CF profile - the developer was not willing to modify the application to make it CF compatible"

I too had been anticipating a CAP for Tera based on the informal Feb 16 notice "CAP for TERA will be coming" but apparently plans have changed.

In Catalyst Control Center I defined an application profile for TERA.exe and I've been using "AFR Friendly" mode because "Default Mode" didn't show a CF performance increase. I haven't measured but the difference was palpable even at the Character Select screen. Using "AFR Friendly" has given me two noticeable problems:

Shading/shadows flicker every alternate frame. This problem seems to go away for a while if I open the Video Options menu in-game and use preset 1 for a moment, then turn it back up to 5 (where I like to play). It re-appears whenever you teleport, Alt-tab, or otherwise reinitialize things. The problem tends to diminish on its own after a couple of minutes, so I'm not sure if twiddling the Preset setting does anything or if that's a superstitious habit I've now picked up, but I often do it anyway.

The name labels likewise flicker (one frame on, one frame off, give or take) and occasionally display garbage. I have gotten used to it, but for a while I had the name labels disabled because it annoyed me at the time.

I am also using EyeFinity across 3 displays but I'm guessing these artifacts come from CF and not EyeFinity.
