As if you and your thread are anymore insightful as the people you're complaining about.

Maybe the dev's shouldn't listen to you either.

It should be fairly clear by now that the majority of the mmo community these days aren't going to be calling for more timesinks or a less accessible game.

If you don't believe that I don't know what to tell you except to point you at every successful mmo on the market.

Yes Darkcerb. In fact, there's was a guy complaining that leveling was too easy because a guy reached lvl 32 since the open beta started. Who cares? I'm not a no lifer who plays this game 24/7, and I find the leveling pace very satisfying. I've played almost 8 hours, and I'm level 14. A little over two hours per level is not "easy", geez.

I was that guy. Though it wasn't literally 8 hours, It would probably be more accurate to maybe 12 or so.

So sorry that I complained about a game that hands things out to you like World of Warcraft. I really did mean it. It is casual players like you that make this game mind numbingly easy. You may not be as skilled as I am, in fact you are probably terrible compared to the more "Serious" players in the community.

But who cares? I do, the serious players do, and majority of us are not "No lifers", I've know people who are more serious about gaming than I am and they have a functioning family. Even his wife was into gaming.

The leveling pace is pretty dumb. Most, and I do mean most, of the players playing this game don't even look at the quest text. They are spamming the "continue" button to get the quest and move on. Or they are camped outside SM looking for a group to make the Que go faster.

But go ahead, Cater to the carebears. I'll just keep playing this game and sit upon my throne at the top, and laugh while you "Casually" make your way around smelling the roses.

I only pray they don't make hardmodes easy enough for someone like you to walk into.

Hello Zanatsu. O.k. I'll answer your post.

First, lets define "easy". "Easy" is about the capabilities of a percentage of the population. Usually, when a majority can achieve success with little difficulty, we call that easy.

You maxed a character in what you claim as 12 hours. That is like .01% of the server population. That would be defined as "Hard".

The thing is, if we catered to make the game hard to such an extremely low percentage, namely you, it would shave off so many people from ever playing the game, that it would become unprofitable. You would sit on your throne, but be king of nothing.

Second, I actually enjoy a challenging difficulty. But I would rather my difficulty not be, "I can sink 20 hours into this" and would rather it be, "I need to work on my timing for dodges in fights, my tanking capabilities, my efficiency as a healer." You know, the part that is actually indicative of self-improvement, not just time.

Sorry, when you're such a small portion of the player base, yet you act like the game should be catered around you, I consider that selfish, arrogant, and demeaning to other players. I don't mind if you level up first in the server. I don't mind if you're the best in the game. But when you go to extremes to be such, then whine at how it is too easy and everyone else sucks, then you're a cancer on the game.

If there is such a stark contrast you would think someone out there would get the memo and make a servers with various rule sets. But know we all wake up with the same idea, someone else had many years ago and think "Ah ha!".

HorroScope, so you mean making a "hardcore" server, versus, "Casual" server? That would be pretty nice actually. You could let the hardcore server have everything the hardcores want.

1. Excessive grinds
2. Leveling that takes months
3. Xp loss on death
4. Must type commands instead of pressing a hotkey (those hotkey noobs)

Right. They say it's too hard to support, even though we know these are typically a small number of world variables to control these things. And face it, it's all hard to support and well SOMEONE HAS TO DO IT TO BE DIFFERENT, NO?

Somebody break the mold.

We've suggested (mmo base in general) even things like servers worlds that run only a certain time during the week for X hours, to keep the game playing base in the same area in terms of hours played. There are tons of possible variants. I'm a middle aged man, I would look and applaud things like this. People with lives look at is we are playing monopoly, I have to go to work and others get to still play. When I get back no wonder I'm losing my [filtered]. We are never against taking traditional servers away, but variation. Devs are trying to distinguish themselves, why not some centricated server rules to garner a follwoing?
