I Too played Rift and Aion (Awesome MMO) and they are easy to play, thats why i quit them. If im going to trawl for 50+ levels of insane Exp grinds (this isn't against grinds I don't want leveling to be fast) but if I am, I want to ENJOY it, not just a 1,2,3,4,2,3,2,4 rotation.

here here :)

I Play an MMO because I become some-what attached to my Characters, as Himeko said, I stopped playing WoW when making a lowbie became about as rewarding as soggy cereal....

Grinding isn't the part I look forward to, its the gratification of overcoming the trials!

Admittedly I'm a bit of a PVP nutter so end game IS good, but theres just something whimsical about leveling for me, they pugs trying to figure out an instance boss, getting stressed over how hard an Elite quest is, THATS an MMO... not 'make char, hit oversized critters, get capped' and then proceed to monotonous replays of dailies to get the best gears....

Yeah I feel what your saying :)
Theres something really rewarding about sitting in front of an elite guy with a small group and trying to work out how you can keep his adds distracted long enough get the main guy down before dying yourself. Sure you die a few times trying to prefect it but thats just part of the process, you know.. actually being involved in it.

Well, as far as I know, the quest-objective BAMs in the game should be right up your alley - in that Kaia's Bindings were given to players to make them easier to solo, but you can just go up and fight them at full strength.

Unfortunately due to testing all classes, I didn't make it to any 'BAMs' so maybe you're right! in which case I'll be very happy :D

That solves the case of party questing, what about soloing? there isn't anything TO that, as someone in the room here just said to me 'if leveling is such a distraction why not have the option to skip it and roll endgame toons and leave the leveling for those who enjoy it?'

My friend who played KR Tera reported to me, the mobs in the game were hitting something like 30-40% weaker than he was used to.

If the damage has been dumbed down for NA, I strongly suggest that the numbers be turned back up again.

I didn't feel any real degree of difficulty in this game with exception of trying to farm BAMs on my Mystic, solo as of the time I hit L22. I shouldn't have to attack mobs that are 5 levels above me just to feel difficulty because of level-based stat mitigation. I shouldn't have to fight a L27 to get the fight I expect out of a L22.

I guess they figure that we NA/EU Players don't appreciate the game as a sport of sorts and figure we just want everything handed to us on a platter (because of various noisy people that grew up sucking on the [filtered] that WoW gave them while all too readily while gobbling up their subscription money...)

Not sure about the majority of players, but I'm definitely one of the NA gamers that wants this game brought to us at the same difficulty level that it was originally intended to be played at. If I get hit as a cloth wearer, I expect to feel the pain, or to possibly get obliterated in one shot if I take a heavy blow from a BAM while playing like a tard...

However, if you'd like to shave down the exp grind a little from what it was originally, I'm okay with killing a couple less monsters each level... just make sure those monsters I `am` fighting aren't complete pussies because you've gimped their attack strength!

The main issue isn't about the game default difficulty. Some people are just exceptional at playing games now due to years of experience, especially with such unforgiving games on the market like Dark Souls that has a healthy fanbase of challenge seekers.

MMOs usually have to find an acceptable default difficulty that won't generate too much complains but these companies try to compromise with us with hardmodes and reward us with gear worthy of the elite players. I don't consider myself one of these elite players but I found the difficulty of the last beta to be acceptable, then again I was playing a Slayer and people mentioned that class is rather easy to use.

I have heard that the game is really easy. I am really REALLY disappointed. In terms of difficulty i was looking for something like SWTOR not WoW.

If there is no threat or challenge the game is worthless. It does not mean that it has to be like Dark Souls, but I definately needs to be like Deux Ex or Skyrim.

No need to make it a Dark Souls clone, thats going to alienate a lot of 'casual' players, but making it to easy is alienating the players that flocked to tera for what it promised 'True Action' all i experienced was static button pushing....

front page of tera's OWN site links to MMO-Fo ( http://tera.enmasse.com/mmo-fo )describes a CHALLENGE in the gameplay, for players SICK of the tab tab tab 1,2,3 rinse repeat method of play, but so far rinse repeat is all I've seen true in a 'shiny new wrapper' but thats not really enough :S
