Please EME put in the LFD. We want it badly! Takes a long time to find groups for the instances, and its especially problematic when you have to focus on spamming the chat while waiting for that 1 person, and you can't really do anything else because your constantly having to spam chat. Then on top of that everyone has to run to the instance, and as always someone is late, or finishing up some quests or whatever. We really need the LFD!!
First - I didn't have any problems finding groups, the LFG chat is always full of people spamming invites.
Second - Join a guild.
Or they could just give us the LFD tool and make it casual/time friendly. People that don't want to use LFD don't have to, but don't make me suffer because you like doing things the hard way. And I shouldn't have to be in a guild or have to spend 3 hours finding a group to access content IMO.
WoW had iterations of the LFD tool as early as 2006 don't know what your talking about. And its not 2006 anymore, its 2012. That's like saying that because people drove without fuel injection for 70 years, a brand new car shouldn't have fuel injection.
Dont pay attention to Wartide. I generally dont pay attention to people who say stuff like "Spaming chat builts community!" or "Joining a Guild is the answer to all the problems!" (aparently because people in Guilds are always online and are at your exact level all the time and are always ready to run your instances, lol).
I wish it was in, I would really enjoy questing and when the queue pops up you can enter. Actually entering the instances are buggy, sometimes you click it and it will reset your timer saying you have to wait the full amount of time again, the only way to fix it easily is to logout. WTB saved time please.
Third - The Exiled Realm of Arborea is too beautiful for people to stay in velika waiting for queues.
I never got this...and the whole "before the LFD..." stuff. It's like if someone so much as says "poo" in chat people start QQing "omg this is barrens chat". It's like people listen to stories that have been so skewed and exaggerated then use them as examples to sound like they know what they're talking about in an argument.
OR, I must have been playing a different WoW cause before LFG find a group was
- Being forced to sit in a major city spamming chat, which usually got lost in Old meme's that were barely funny the first 100 times I heard them and "what I learned in community College Politics class" discussions.
- Once you find a group a number of things can go wrong:
- The tank isn't a tank but a holy paladin in cloth gear and a staff
- The healer is too low of a level
- The oddly silent night elf rogue with a gibberish name keeps typing in engrish which more often then not that meant something was getting ninjaed and then ofc "you buy [ninjaed item] 900 bajillion gold?"
- you or anyone else may get kicked cause 1) the leaders friend really wants to go 2) you have the same armor type as the the group leader and he doesn't want to share or 3) the person just doesn't like your class
- Once you get there then a whole bunch of other crap can happen.
- Make your way to a heroic instance and oh look the healer is saved so now back to a capital city you got to find a healer.
- getting to the instance 1) someone gets lost 2) the child of instant gratification decides to ditch the group cause 2 mins went by and he didn't kill anything 3) the armchair gladiator decided to attack a group of the opposing faction and is now begging for help.
- IF on a pvp server, the opposing faction has taken over the instance entrance...which I'll admit was fun during MC/BWL days.
- The tank is just bad...just...really bad. You're pulling mobs off with auto attack after waiting for initial aggro. Kick the tank then back to a capital city you got to find a tank.
- The DPs didn't get the drop they wanted and bailed..yup..back to a capital city you got to find a DPS.
This is ofc if you weren't playing a Rogue, Hunter, Fury Warrior or Ret Paladin and were actually able to find a group. The whole time while looking for a group you were stuck in a capital city, except for that short time WoW had a global lfg channel, which was just a bad idea...a really really bad idea. There was a mod that was very much like the LFG system Tera has now but like many mods the makers got bored and it died well before blizzards LFG. Shame cause it had a black list too.
WITH LFD...
- NO MATTER where you are in the world you can queue up for an instance. You ARE NOT bound to a city till the queue pops.
- While in the queue you can go do what ever you want which includes but not limited to..
- Playing the AH
- Farming Ore
- Farming Herbs
- Doing Dailies
- Grinding Rep
- Ganking
- Dancing on mail boxes
- Stealthing in the Tram Tunnel ganking lowbies
- Scaring lowbies into making dumb mistakes that get them killed by not laying a hand on them or being flagged but just following them and staring
- ERPing in Goldshire with gnomes (if that's your thing)
- Questing
- Helping low level friends with quests
- Exploring
- Do what ever the silly world event is for that month
- etc etc etc..
- your Queue pops. Any of the things that can go wrong listed above are fixed with a kick and requeue.
There's NOTHING from a LFD tool that says you HAVE to stay in a capital city to find a group. Your 25 min queue will be 25 mins whether you're in ORG, flying around ICC or farming mats no one farms in outland. This is something THE PLAYER does. Blizzard, EnMasse, SoE, Trion, BioWare..who ever can't FORCE players not to be lazy.
