In all the time I've posted here I can't recall disagreeing with you before, Fatwa. But this time, I have to ask: What possible 'changing landscape' could you even -remotely- foresee that would make the whole p2w concept suddenly not only acceptable, but -necessary-?

Honestly, I was going to pre-order today now that I'm home from work but seeing this news has me positive that until we get confirmation that there will NOT be a cash-shop that has anything more than vanity items in it, I will not be paying nor playing. I'm sorry but a pay to play game for $15 a month can not have a pay to win cash shop and expect people to not be angry.

Seriously, they have said they have other priorities such as launching the god damn game....so why are you all crying like school girls over something that isn't in the NA release yet..and may never be. Of course they aren't going to confirm right now one way or the other as they are concentrating on launching the game.
If you can't deal with the fact that the strategy for this game may change in the future then go back to wow or whatever it is your playing now, and pay your 25 or 100 for vanity mounts that do absolutley nothing and play a game that takes 0 skill to play...[filtered]ing about something that is in Ktera and not in the NA release is stupid.....because it happens in Ktera doesn't mean it will happen here...
Keep up the great work dev's and community relations team...keep the game difficult and challenging and don't listen to the wow kiddie pool who want to dip their toes into something they won't be able to handle anyway
These noncommittal stances typically result in pay2win games as soon as anything remotely negative happens in terms of subscriber numbers. Because it happened in Ktera means it's an extreme possibility to happen in NATera.
And the thing is, I don't care if they sell $25 vanity mounts, I don't care if there is a cosmetic cash shop, as frankly, I'll use it.
What I do mind is selling power through real life money. All items should be obtainable in the game with a proper amount of effort relative to whatever effect they give.
This right here sums up pretty well the majority opinion. I really hope you are listening EME write this post down and tape it to the centre of your conference table.
It seems the problem stems from T-cat, currency gained from your subscription in Korea and more from buying the items.
Remove T-cat, keep the vanities.

I would be surprised if they removed t-cats. Keeping t-cats as some variation of veteran rewards while tying it into the cash shop is a very, very smart idea.
It would be a bad idea to not start out with subscription-only t-cats.
This idea actually has been the more popular idea around the office. We just want to get it right so we haven't made any final decisions. We got bigger fish to fry right now besides selling items - like launching a stable TERA service.
Wait, reiterate please, is removing the t-coins thepopular idea? or tying them to veteran rewards?
And would these veteran rewards be in any way able to affect game mechanics?

hahaha the 10 of you who are left after you shoo everyone away will have to battle it out with your wallets cause if these items are ok with you then perhaps a potion that heals 1% per sec for 50 secs in combat will be ok for you. Than maybe an upgraded verion will be ok that heals 2% and so on.
Did I miss where they said they were going to offer P2W items? Seems like people are freaking out over something that isn't even there.
There's even a blue post that acknowledges the hate for P2W in the west.

It is because K-TERA now has a P2W system. You can buy items that give you buffs, protect your crystals from breaking, and can even restore stamina mid-fight. There are self buffs, guild buffs, and even equipment for sale (though they are not as good as end-game).

funny how you dont get it. Clearly pay to win is bad. all EMe has to do not implement it at all yet they wont deny doing it. Doesnt that bring up any flags? Something so concrete that will ruin the game yet nothing to say about the matter?
Using the games release a scapegoat isnt really going to work

Funny how you don't get it....Your arguing about a feature that exists in a different version of the game in a different country that may not nor ever exist in the North American version of the game and certainly not at release.
When they go to bring it in, they will announce it, until then, your arguing on a future that may / may not exist in this version.

Actually, I disagree with them on a number of things, and constructively state my disagreements where they are most effectively heard, which is generally in places where the mindless masses can't emotionally rant on the topic. :)

Unfortunately history shows that most games that come from over-seas and have a cash shop typically carry them over to the American release.
This is unacceptable for a game that is already subscription based.
am not. wheres the line if its acceptable to have game changing items available for real money? oh we can have guild buffs player buffs and crystal protection which eleminiates the risk for high level owpvp. God forbid they add a hp potion to that shop?
