I like the events. The one we had in beta was great. I loved finding those boxes. The best thing in them was the super dye where you could use the sliders to dye armor any color you wanted. I loved it.

This. I am becoming more and more convinced that people who post about "oh they are doing this but not this" are children. The only other alternative is that they have no idea how a business works even though they work for one. Either way it is very sad.
Honestly, I would put the soup back in... just to bug the people crying about eggs being gone. XD
The soups didn't drop from eggs, they come from special event chests.
During the EU beta, I did get one (1) soup from the eggs over the weekend, compared to dozens during the NA beta from treasure chests. Anyway, what does and does not drop from the eggs during our event remains to be seen. They do mention "potent consumables", so I think it's safe to say that something like soup will drop.
One thing that was entertaining is that people would get a Velika scroll on the Isle of Dawn on their first character, use it, and then be stranded in Velika because they didn't have the money to buy a return scroll, and were too low level to use the taxi back.
