After an hour of solid lvl 1 Combo Attack testing with all the races, I have come to three conclusions:
1) Baraka, Human, Popori, High Elf, and Castanic have approximately the exact same combo attack striking distance of ~4m, and will hit the same tile on the first bridge you come across at approximately the exact same spot. Near the start of the tile
2) Aman hit the same spot, but barely move from the starting position to do so, AND the males swing much faster than the aforementioned five races. Noticeably faster...seriously, check it out. It's most noticeable when hitting Combo Attack while running.
3)Elin hit that same tile, but hit it at the far end instead of the close end. They also swing their axe faster than the first 5 races, but not quite as fast as the Aman Male.
The first 5 races need to be within 4m of a target to show the tip of their axe grazing the target, and they end their animation 2m away from the target. Aman need to be within 4m of that target to hit it, but end their animation 3m away from the target. Elin can be 5m away from the target, and end their animation 2m away from the target.
From my, admittedly short, one hour of testing of all races at level 1, I am now fairly convinced that Elin have an overall range advantage unless they can't perform their animation's leap. In a situation where a leap is impossible, Aman performed best, only needing to move 1 meter to hit something 4 meters away, giving their swing a 3 meter range as opposed to everyone else's 2 meter swing.
These numbers are approximate, but the visual of seeing the Elin swing much farther than every other race is not a trick of the imagination. It's quite substantial.
If you had told me 2 weeks ago that I'd be contemplating rolling Elin at launch, I'd have punched you in the teeth. It might come down to Ore-gathering for Aman vs plant-gathering for Elin.
