Elin Berserkers have a longer reach Thunder Strike than other races.

After an hour of solid lvl 1 Combo Attack testing with all the races, I have come to three conclusions:

1) Baraka, Human, Popori, High Elf, and Castanic have approximately the exact same combo attack striking distance of ~4m, and will hit the same tile on the first bridge you come across at approximately the exact same spot. Near the start of the tile

2) Aman hit the same spot, but barely move from the starting position to do so, AND the males swing much faster than the aforementioned five races. Noticeably faster...seriously, check it out. It's most noticeable when hitting Combo Attack while running.

3)Elin hit that same tile, but hit it at the far end instead of the close end. They also swing their axe faster than the first 5 races, but not quite as fast as the Aman Male.

The first 5 races need to be within 4m of a target to show the tip of their axe grazing the target, and they end their animation 2m away from the target. Aman need to be within 4m of that target to hit it, but end their animation 3m away from the target. Elin can be 5m away from the target, and end their animation 2m away from the target.

From my, admittedly short, one hour of testing of all races at level 1, I am now fairly convinced that Elin have an overall range advantage unless they can't perform their animation's leap. In a situation where a leap is impossible, Aman performed best, only needing to move 1 meter to hit something 4 meters away, giving their swing a 3 meter range as opposed to everyone else's 2 meter swing.

These numbers are approximate, but the visual of seeing the Elin swing much farther than every other race is not a trick of the imagination. It's quite substantial.

If you had told me 2 weeks ago that I'd be contemplating rolling Elin at launch, I'd have punched you in the teeth. It might come down to Ore-gathering for Aman vs plant-gathering for Elin.

yeah I also tested combo attacks, and while I agree aman male has a fast attack, its also the shortest range that I tested on a monster, the humans and the races that share the human's animation, have a slightly longer combo attack range, but its slightly slower.( I would say 6m vs 5m when I did vs a monster)

also note that popori's 2nd combo attack does not arc at all...

Because it's not a "problem". It's a style of design. Each race has their own reach, etc.
This stuff has already been tested, way back in March:

Basically though, Elin trades the reach for having a smaller hurtbox, and end up positioned a lot closer to the enemy. Movement is both good and bad. Zombie'ing this stuff doesnt really help much.

thank you for reply my friend, but if this design is intended then its ridiculous. .

If a race is harder to hit, and hits further and on plus of that gets closer to the enemy its and advantage not a trade.

Like for example, you're fighting a sorc, you are little so its harder for him to hit you, but on plus of that i don't have to run that extra meter to catch him and even if do fail to hit him ill be closer?

But if im an Aman, its easier for him to target me, i have to run allot more, sacrificing probably hp, and if i fail i will be further than if i had chosen another race. how is that suppose to make any sense?

Im sorry if i necro this subject but, im not a veteran from cbt's, so when i discover this i was quite frustrated even more so when i don't get any answer for this question.

Why did you have to post this.....

It was nice when only a few of knew this. Now everyone else knows this and are complaining. Everything was fine and were all happy playing their characters. Not anymore.

Now we have even more things to complain about, instead of learning to change ourselves to adapt to the game.

Korean gamers: View complaining as a weakness and learn to adapt to environment to come out of it is as the best.

American Gamers: Whine and whine until things change. Sometimes they never do, so they quit and end up never having fun. Pretty dumb in my opinion. I mean, do you guys complain your arms are not as strong as your friends? No, you go to the gym. Do you complain that you don't make enough money? No, you study harder and get a better job. Tired of getting dominated in PvP, then learn to play better instead of whining on the forums. Suck at PvE? Then learn the boss mechanics and how to control your character. Stop whining like children, makes us Americans look bad.
