En Masse – GvG Ladder – Suggestion

En Masse,

Currently there appears to be no definitive Guild vs. Guild ladder system. A ladder system would provide the Tera community a friendly and competitive structure that Tera is currently lacking. Since the announcement of GvG being available across all servers in Tera, the addition of a Guild vs. Guild ladder system would benefit the entire Tera community. This would also provide incentive for World PvP through GvG & assist in maintaining an active community. (In short, ladder systems equate to renewed subscriptions and possibility of being picked up for professional circuits.)

Below is a basic ranking system that may work for Tera.

At the start of each ladder season (recommended quarterly or semi-annual resets) each guild starts at 1000 Rating.

+/- 100 Rating = (Winners +20 / Losers -20) Example: Guild A 1100 Rated beats Guild B 1000 Rating. Guild A +20 Rating, Guild B -20 Rating

Each additional +/- 100 Rating = +/- 5 additional points (capped at +/- 20 additional rating (500 Rating difference)

+/- 100 Rating, +/- 20 Rating – No Bonus
+/- 200 Rating, +/- 5 Rating bonus
+/- 300 Rating, +/- 10 Rating bonus
+/- 400 Rating, +/- 15 Rating bonus
+/- 500 Rating, +/- 20 Rating bonus

Examples:
Example 1:
Guild A – 1200 Rating
Guild B – 1000 Rating
Guild A beats Guild B (Guild A gains +15 Rating (due to 200 rating difference (Base 20 Rating minus 5 for rating difference) & Guild B loses 15 Rating (200 Point difference)

Example 2:
Guild C – 1500 Rating
Guild D – 800 Rating
Guild C beats Guild D (Guild C gains 0 Rating (due to 700 Rating difference) Guild D loses 0 Rating (Due to 700 Rating difference)

Example 3:
Guild E – 2200 Rating
Guild F – 1700 Rating
Guild F beats Guild E (Guild F gains 40 Rating (due to 500 rating difference (20 Base +20 Bonus)) Guild E loses 40 Rating (20 Base + 20 bonus)

---------
Addition Incentive:
Achievements (1500 Rating, 2000 Rating, 100 Wins, 1000 Wins, 100 loses, 1000 loses, etc…)
End of Season Unique Titles, special in-game non-competitive items, such as hats for top ranked guilds on each server.

--------
Restrictions:

Minimum Requirements for a GvG to be considered Ranked
A minimum threshold of points must be achieved through killing the opposing guilds members.
- Each kill equals 1 point (Including Guild Leaders… Please change current system so GL are only worth 1 point.)
- 50 Minimum Kills/Points to qualify for Ranked GvG

Note: Once a GvG has reached the minimum points to qualify as a ranked match, if a Guild forfeits the war, the forfeiting guild counts as a lost and other guild is recorded as a win and Ratings are applied.

Note: If a Guild forfeits a War prior to points / kills threshold has been achieved by ether side then match is not considered ranked.

Please post your comments and if you support this suggestion please let En Masse know.

Thanks,

I second this motion.
A company assisted ladder system would only invite more players and more interest. Tying raw competition into prestige, vanarch, reputation, rewards, etc. is an impeccable option.

I agree with this. there is nothing wrong with a friendly competitive ladder system, and its something we really need.

I like your suggestion, if you wouldnt mind may I add on to your suggestion?

This more for guild houses but how about the guilds Coat of Arms on a banner in front of their guild house with pennants attached to banner representing achievements accomplished with this rating system.

A few ideas:

Placement Pennants
Gold pennant with what ever season it is on it - gained through placing first in the guild ladder
Silver pennant with what ever season it is on it - gained through placing 2nd to 7th
Copper pennant with what ever season it is on it - gained through placing 7th to 12th

Top 12 guilds would get a pennant attached to their banner showing off their accomplishments

Wins Pennants
The pennant itself will be red the following marks will indicate how many wins that guild has

/ - 1 win
// - 10 wins
/// - 25 wins
> - 100 wins
>> - 250 wins
>>> - 500 wins
* - 1,000 wins
** - 2,000 wins
*** - 5,000 wins
**** - 10,000+ wins

* = stars

Green pennant with gold leaf - Earned for getting no deaths in a guild match (more leaves can be added on as you accomplish this feat more in the same increment as wins 1, 10, 25, 100, etc.)

These are just a few of the numerous things that could be added but i think it would be cool to show off something like this!

All in all i like your idea good way to keep competition alive between guilds.

Yes, because suggestions can't be made while something is being fixed </sarcasm>

It would only take 3 wins a day for over 9 years to get 4 stars!

oh...and 30 billion gold.

Note: Guild Leaders death must be changed to 1 point, currently most guilds have their Guild Leader set to an administrative account. So there is no real reason for GL deaths to count as extra points for GvG.

or increase the amount of points gained when GL makes a kill, extra gain for the extra risk
