I bet its why IGN gave Tera a 6.5 score. Hell I would have done the same after a few fails in a row. Instead I wrote this.
:(
The IGN reviewer complained about TERA being an MMO. He didn't even get to max level.
Also, it's only bad because you make it bad. If you focus on that instead of...I don't know, enjoying the dungeon runs for the loot to use in enchanting, then of course you're not going to like it.
42 golds later means either some were purchased... or about 100 dungeon runs give or take a few. It gets boring after you throw enough money at your gear to make normal modes a faceroll, which is +7/+8.
Yes, it's a horrible system that only servers one purpose; to mask the complete and utter lack of end game content by artificially extending the length of progression.
There is nothing skillful, gratifying or entertaining about running the same 2 dungeons over and over again, hoping that enchantment fodder items will drop, only to then be hoping that you successfully enchant your desired gear.
42 is still better than 100+ if old enchanting system was still in-game. Always fun to go -1 when you fail.
Cheers.
LOL wow that really was in place?
Eastern gaming seems to like to enhance rewards through difficulty and setbacks. I remember leveling DOWN in ffxi and it was like "omg there went 2 days of grinding".
There is something to be said for it though. Because when you have setbacks it makes victory all the sweeter.
Since it is so hard to get +9s legitimately, I'd like some reassurance from EME that all the exploited ones were actually caught and rolled back. I haven't personally seen an official word on that.
Other than that, I don't have a problem with the current system, despite it being out of my reach financially in game atm.
If it was easy to get +9s, then you'd be quicker to the hardmodes and then get your 13s and easily get them to +9 then what? Not sure what people are racing for because this is the endgame atm.
