Enchanting: WHAT IS THIS I DONT EVEN

Alright, so I've been toying with the crafting/enchanting systems today. So far so good. I ran out of time before I could do anything with the Enchanting but from what I've read you need...

Item to Upgrade (IU) + Item to Destroy (ID) + Deosilex

The item you want to destroy in the process has to be the same type of item (ie, disc for disc) -- also the same level. So say I make a batch of discs. I sacrifice one to upgrade another to +1. Can I use the other discs to keep upping my +1? Or am I going to need progressively stronger items to destroy to keep upgrading?

You only need items of the same tier. I consumed two white swords on my Warrior.

Unfortunately it failed. :(

Sorry to hear that :(

However, I'm glad to hear that making a big batch of discs wasnt a *complete* waste... might be able to get my equipped one to +3 or 4 next weekend, with any luck.

They could stand to clarify this in their help section a little. I had a stockpile of useless gear in my inventory (many of which couldn't be banked), and I had no idea what would be valid for enchanting, and what wouldn't. I think the quest mentions it, but who remembers little details like that when you actually need to know them?

Well enchanting is... is very random. Made my swords to +8 and later managed to ''enchant'' same swords to +2 level :))) Same with armor, did +7 went to +4 and back +6 > +5... never ending story. Spent like ~100k+ gold on buying enchanting supplies from NPC and countless armors/weapons. Haven't made +9 =]]

Btw I was only enchanting my weapon and breastplate.

As for enchanting, you don't need same type of weapon or armor, you need an item to be same TIER. If you read on description of an item it says its tier level.

Should be worth mentioning that we don't have access to the more expensive special alkahests yet, either. The ones that protect against item degradation, or have a higher success chance but doesn't protect.

The enchanting system was pretty confusing to figure out.

The destroyed gear needs to be white for + 1-3, green for 4-6, and blue for 7-9.
It also needs to be of the same tier level or higher compared to the item you're enchanting.

There is a chance of failing and losing consumed items.
There is a chance of failing and losing consumed items as well as lose an enchantment level.

And if I could edit, I would change "The destroyed gear needs to be white for + 1-3, green for 4-6, and blue for 7-9." to "The destroyed gear needs to be white+ rarity items for + 1-3, green+ for 4-6, and blue+ for 7-9."
