Enmasse, your pvp servers will decide whether i'll play this game or not!

Actually, griefing, by very definition, is a form of PvP.

The term "carebear" is not an insult, anymore than calling a PvPer a "griefer."

The bottom line is that if you are forced into a pvp encounter by another player that you did not initiate and did not invite than most people would equate that to being "griefed."

The big difference between a "carebear"/pver and a "griefer"/pvper is that the former does not desire a nonconsensual pvp encounter to interfere with his/her gameplay, and the "griefer"/pvper does. The element that separates the two is predictability of game play. The pvper wants gameplay to be unpredictable, and the pver does not. It is all about a mindset, and neither mindset is wrong, just different.

Point being, if you force a pvper into a predictable pve ruleset, it destroys what the true pvper wants from their gaming experience (unpredictability). Just as much as a pver should not be forced into a pvp ruleset, the pvper should not be forced into a pve ruleset.

That is the point of pve v pvp servers.

So bottom line... allow nonconsensual pvp on pvp servers and let the community and politics sort it out. Do not allow nonconsensual pvp on pve servers, and everyone is happy.

And honestly, maybe they should even consider adding "hardcore" servers so the sadists that want to lose all their loots when they get killed can go there. From my experience those who want that are always the most obnoxious in the PvP community.

I've got a better idea, how about a "hardcore" server that you'll lose your characters when they are killed? Just like the hardcore mode in Diablo 2. That's even more sadistic :)

A PvP server should absolutely be a risk and reward system. Something should be lost, something should be gained, for each pvp encounter. It adds depth to the game that you cannot obtain otherwise. I'm anxious to see how En Masse/Bluehole is going to handle it.

See that's the thing YOU DO HAVE A PROBLEM.

You've felt the need to make 2 posts about this, both in which you call pve players "carebears".

Not only that but you're creating an issue that isn't there in the first place. Did a horde of pve players come on the forums demanding that there be radical changes to the game and pvp servers to suit there raiding needs? Not from what I saw.

You're entitled to your opinion about how you want this game to go. I can respect that. But dude, you're being an [filtered]. Rethink how you address people if you want some insightful discussions on the state of the game and what devs can do to make it better.

i did not mean carebear as an insult, and i only used it once in this thread. the second post was just quoting your post. all i'm saying is pvp servers should be how it's suppose to be. cater pve servers to pve'ers and cater pvp servers to pvp'ers. i'm 2/3 pvp and 1/3 pve, everyone has their own taste.

"Make the games for the 10 of us, not the 200,000 other people over there!"

Your entire post was stupid.

alot of people want pvp aswell. this is a forum and i can express my opinion on pvp. and please remember that this thread is NOT about pve servers, it's about the pvp servers

Play Mortal Online if you want harsh PVP. The game has no newbie zone (can be pk'd at level 1) and when someone kills you you drop your inventory like you were a mob. It is pay-to-play and super hardcore pvp. Because of the nature of that game, it has a small audience of hardcore pvpers. Meanwhile, I'll stick to games with huge audiences with more forgiving mechanics.

I find it funny that there are extremely hardcore pvp-oriented MMOs but people would rather stick around in a game they don't like to insult people for being carebears. If you call other people carebears and don't play games with extreme emphasis on pvp then you are a hypocrite.

i want to play this game because i absolutely love it's luscious, colorful, ecstatic graphics and it's incredible action gameplay. ofcourse i played hardcore pvp games, there's nothing wrong with a pvper who wants to play hardcore pvp on this game.
