Force Anti-Aliasing for TERA (NVIDIA ONLY)

I have complied a guide for setting up proper AA for TERA, none of that in-game "light enrichtment" crap that just blurs everything.

I didn't post the guide here since EME is sketchy on their ToS, but if you're interested, follow the link below.

Anti-Aliasing for TERA (Nvidia Only)

NOTE: This is for NVIDIA only, sorry ATI, maybe I'll make one in the future, but I highly doubt it since I never owned an ATI card nor do I even have access to one to do testing on.

its simple for ati:

right click desktop > catalyst control center > gaming > adjust the sliders and from the dropdowns tied to each select over ride application setting

You can do the same thing in NVIDIA, but nothing will happen because the NVIDIA Control Panel just treats TERA like it doesn't have an AA profile which is why you have to go the more advance route.

Yea I used AMD Vision Engine Control (CC) to save a profile to Tera.exe with forced x4 AA. I didn't see a reason to go any higher than that. I always saw Tera's version of AA as a horrible blur too. If you force AA with your Nvidia or Ati software, you will notice the difference. Plus if you were to put the light slider to 2, it will pretend to AA by blurring everything.

Indeed. there's really no point after 4x, I tried all the way to 32x, the naked eye won't be able to see the difference, you're just scarifying performance for almost no quality gain after 4x.

These are my fps at the character screen:
4x = 75-80
8x = 70ish
16x = 40-45
32x = 30ish

Edit: I added a screenshot comparison of No AA / In-game AA / Force AA at the bottom of guide.

If you force Antistrophic Filtering to X2 you will get a big framerate jump too. I can't tell the difference between X2 and X16 of that either.

My fps was fine with the settings I had when I played during EU this past weekend, stable 65+ fps in the open world and 40-50fps in Velika

I wouldn't recommend Super Sampling 4x unless your running 560/6870 or higher card.

Well it isn't that huge of a change, like 16 or so fps change from 16x to 2x.
