This has been bugging me for awhile so I'm just gonna put it out there. Reasonable people are going to read this and understand... others may not.
Fixing things in any game takes time. Time that most of today's player base is not willing to give. People complain and then expect the changes to come over night. Heaven forbid it takes several weeks for people to find solutions and write code to make the improvements needed to fix issues.
The REAL problem is with the players who log in and play everyday for 8-12 hours a days, blow the game apart and then start fires on the forums with the issues that need addressing are not fixed over night. Your like a bunch of old women who sit around complaining to each other until you all feel supported and justified about being outraged over issues of minor importance. Its just not reasonable to expect a company to produce game changing fixes at the rate at which people play an MMO.
There are issue, issues that are valid and will cause players to leave for legitimate reasons. However the time table between when a "no life" gamer expects things to happen and when a company can address and fix issues is vastly different.
If you played a couple hours a day (a couple is not 6-12 people) the unbelievable complaint fest that goes on here would die off quickly. Gaming wouldn't be your life and so the time it takes to address issues wouldn't be so game breaking for you.
However when basically ALL of your waking time is spent in one department you very quickly begin to place unreasonable importance on it, well above and beyond what is reasonable. I really despise what today's typical gamer has become. Bunch of whiny, "I want it now", brats of ALL ages that don't understand that if you play a game 8-10 hours a day for 2 months and then get bored that its... your fault.
Like paying 80 bucks for 500+ hours of entertainment somehow means you've been ripped off. Try doing that with any other form of entertainment and see how it works out. Hell, try doing that with most video games even!
You've gotten 2 months of new content, new friends, an amazing combat system, a interesting story line for those who took the time to pay attention to it and all the jokes hidden within, a beautiful world to explore, all the hype and excitement of a new game release and a lot more I could spell out and what do 90% of you have to say for yourselves?
Its not enough, "QQ I demand more" for my 15 bucks a month. I was able to experience everything they took YEARS to code... set up... test... produce... and design for the cost of what is basically one large pizza... and I'm so full of myself that I demand more.
Its not the game that needs fixing. Its the players...
