A rant on either side of whether this game is good or not, or how long it takes to develop new content is all mute in the end.
What matters is clear and consistent communication between the player base and the developers.
For example: A player doesn't believe there is enough end game, or that something isn't balanced. A clear answer, perhaps in the form an easily searchable FAQ for later questions might go a long way towards either letting people know someone is listening, or a lack of communication makes people feel that they are not being listened to.
Remember, is someone thinks their issue is important, then that is their perception, and their perception is in fact their reality. Dismissing it doesn't solve the problem. Whether you be "old ladies" or some uprighteous person who thinks they know everything about other people...
The OP has the perception that people complain too much, and to him they do. To someone who complains, they feel they have a justified reason to post about something, and to them they do. It is their perception.
So don't belittle others, tell them that their feelings don't matter, etc., because you are just wasting your time. Listen and then answer.
Clear communication is the key... and perhaps providing a clear roadmap of features coming up might help people know what they can expect.
No asnwers just lead to incorrect conclusions and people thinking they are not being listened to, so they un-sub and games, be they good or not, fail.
My two cents.
