"Gamers" these days make me sick!

A rant on either side of whether this game is good or not, or how long it takes to develop new content is all mute in the end.

What matters is clear and consistent communication between the player base and the developers.

For example: A player doesn't believe there is enough end game, or that something isn't balanced. A clear answer, perhaps in the form an easily searchable FAQ for later questions might go a long way towards either letting people know someone is listening, or a lack of communication makes people feel that they are not being listened to.

Remember, is someone thinks their issue is important, then that is their perception, and their perception is in fact their reality. Dismissing it doesn't solve the problem. Whether you be "old ladies" or some uprighteous person who thinks they know everything about other people...

The OP has the perception that people complain too much, and to him they do. To someone who complains, they feel they have a justified reason to post about something, and to them they do. It is their perception.

So don't belittle others, tell them that their feelings don't matter, etc., because you are just wasting your time. Listen and then answer.

Clear communication is the key... and perhaps providing a clear roadmap of features coming up might help people know what they can expect.

No asnwers just lead to incorrect conclusions and people thinking they are not being listened to, so they un-sub and games, be they good or not, fail.

My two cents.

I'd say a huge problem with society today is the thought that all opinions and perceptions are equally valid. But whatever. I'll continue pointing out ridiculous arguments on the forum and informing people of why they are ridiculous. If some sarcasm slips through in the process, or attaching of labels such as "whiner" I apologize for nothing. Nothing at all.

Evolution is inevitable. Adapt. You want a game that you can play w/ other people, it is going to have to be a game that other people will play. If gamers these days make you sick, you should stop playing MMOs. Skyrim is available.

There's people who think ALL gamers "are sick" too.

They're both the same thing! And you try getting most adult idiots to agree with that article. They'll just think it's a childish and idiotic way to waste your time.

The most one can say about a practical application of MMORPGs, is that they teach you leadership and organizational skills (raiding, guild leadership etc).

I play Magic the Gathering on breaks at work with some like-minded co-workers, but most of the other people just look at us like we're crazy and childish.

Real Gamers complain - because Real gamers know!
The only thing this game has going for itself is the graphics!
Everything else is WACK!

Content sucks!
PVP sucks! "Unbalanced Nonsense!"
Enchanting Sucks
What else is there - woops nothing.
Grinding for gold? cmon man this is 2012 and this isn't Korea!

Out of all the mmo's out there that failed! Devs shouldve learned something by now!

I couldve spent 90 bucks on something way better than this. (60 bucks for game + 2 months sub)
The only reason im still here is because of my friends and soon they'll drop this too.
Peace.

See, now that's a case of non-constructive criticism. Lemme show you how it's done, son.

Real Gamers complain - because Real gamers know that if we just sat around a [Camp Fire] (pun, intended) /singing Kumbaya all day, it'd be a damned boring life.

Content sucks!
*Levels 1-59 are BORING except for when you group up to kill BAMs or join dungeons. Sure, you could group up to grind off one particular BAM every 10 levels, but then that becomes repetitive too.

*Levels 1-20 are even MOAR BORING. We get like 2-3 skills that actually look good and spam it against regular every day monsters.

*I reached level 60 and kept some pieces of quest armor because I was hoping to use it as a template for my "end game" chest piece. Low and behold I found out that only crafted gear could be used as a template.

^SUGGESTION:
For every 5 levels, have a "good variety" of different BAMs (mebbe 5?) that people could grind off if they choose to forsake questing. This game's all about the BAMs, promote it, embrace it. The Level 1 area should have one BAM in each different questing area for people to fight.

^SUGGESTION:
Make any quested/dropped armor/weapons be usuable as a template. The crafted gear should have a completely different template than any of these, if they don't already do, as to not render crafted gear useless.

Enchanting Sucks
*Good things should provide a challenge to obtain, they *should never be random*. Example:

If an "unskilled" player (and I use that in the broadest term possible) like myself were to +9 my weapon after only 4 failed attempts at the +8 stage, can you say that I truly earned it compared to a so-called "skilled" player who has attempted it 40+ times?

As they say on the Internet....

Fix'd.

Good post, something on these here forums I can completely agree with for once.

Here's the thing though - the whole world is going to hell right now, entire sovereign economies are getting flushed down the pan and they're going to drag everyone down with them if it doesn't get fixed. Times are pretty dark, and look likely to continue getting darker than any of us has ever experienced in our lifetime.

A lot of these serial whiners with their colossal sense of self entitlement are going to be worrying about a lot more than the kind of trivial stuff that gets them in a foam right now. Let them work themselves into a spin over every little tiny thing, at some stage we'll all be in a position to put some stuff that seems to matter right now, in real perspective.

Gallus; this post. [filtered] 5 stars.

lol Thanks Cat

Honestly though, back to the OP's wall of text.... it's a pretty long written joke.

"Gamers these days" he says.... as if something has changed.

Humans have been griping and complaining about everything since the dawn of time.

Buncha ancient ancestors in Africa griping back and forth with wood makes the most OP fishing spears....

Seriously, go back and pull up the original EQ, Lineage, DF, LoK or UO forums.... If my old man brain serves me well, it was pretty much a spitting image of these forums, and every other game forum to ever see the light of day.

Nothing has changed.

Yeah it has, and if you've any experience of those old days at all you'll know it has. The OP didn't say people don't argue, or rage. It's just that now, it's an e-sport.
