As a competitive pvper myself, I really dislike the amount of PVE time I have to put in to get good PVP gear. It's just down right lame. It wouldn't be so bad if the game wasn't so gear-dependant in PVP, like in Guild Wars, but this game is more like Aion, where you gear is 25-50% of the fight.

At least in Aion you could PvP to get pvp gear. PvP should be skill based and gear shouldn't account for more than 5 to 10% of your character's strength in pvp. But that's just my take on it. (Oh well, GW2 will be here soon lol)

As far as solo play goes, my opinion (as an old MUD player and EQ veteran) is that MMOs should highly encourage group play, and as it stands, new games like Tera and SWTOR coddle Solo players to death. In Tera you practically solo your way from 1 to 60, with only stopping once every 15 levels or so to do a single group story quest. (I know first hand as I'm rolling a lancer solo on my spare time when my static group isn't playing, so it's even extremely easy on a non-dps class).

I think it's a crime to have MMOs where you can go 5 - 10 levels with no group instance or content, yet you can solo from 1 to 60. I mean, FFS why not just go play Skyrim if you wanna solo all day? lol.

Just my 2 kinah.

yea i agree to some extent, but then at 60 the game does a complete 180 and gives you no means to aquire good gear without grping. Atleast in Aion i could craft high lvl weapons without having to run pve instances that bore the life out of me and are more like a chore than leisure time. If i could farm mobs for 6hrs a day and accrue some kind of wealth id do it. But farming for outdated tiers that sell for relatively nothing compared to the cost of crafting better items just isnt worth it. We need t13 drops from bams, or the crafting system needs to be less instance reliant.. make it hard.. make it a time consuming affair i dont mind at all. Just make it accessible to ppl that would rather farm than rely on randoms to gain loot.

Keyrunes.. absolutely worthless atm.. if you could craft t13 items using these in the thousands atleast theyd sell for somthing and be worth farming.. or worth keeping to one day craft that elusive gear. Atm the game is just so one dimensional, and tbh it feels outdated, linear and just boring.

I applaud those that have achieved 148+ iLvls as i know you have worked hard and may see this post as "give me free stuff" rant. But i assure you its not. I love games that make that really good gear hard to obtain. But when you really just repeat the same 2 instances over and over and over again it has to make you wonder, isnt there anything else to do in this game? Sadly the fact is there isnt, and i dont think we should just accept that and say "ok, well this is the game.. time to do those 2 instances again.. " Im pretty sure the evolution of mmos has move way past this amount of limited content. We are paying for a 50% complete game.

*you don't say.gif*

The game just about goes as far as licking your behind 1 to 60, and at 60 you get a kick in the behind with the message fend for your self. Like what's that other MMO that did this, erm oh ya WoW.

I know this is going to be unpopular.. but atleast wow has pvp.. on demand.. I loved high warlord/garnd marshal days in wow. Was hard but there was a point to it. And regardless of the balance issues that plagued it and every mmo. atleast they recognize the concept of balance..unlike BHS it seems.

I appologize for being so down on the game, i really am just dissapointed and taking it out on these forums, if you enjoy the game.. thats great, keep at it ignore my ramblings ^^ . If you dont.. can you reccomend another? XD

No need to apologize. You have every right to state how you feel.

This is just a concept that several people are struggling with, at this point in time.

No need, the game is under achieving what it can be, and what it currently is.

There is really not much to recommend, right at this date. If you can hold out, there are a few fresh rabbits on the horizon, tho how good they do is anyone's guess.

Theres a game coming out in about a month from now that's going to be great for pvp, and offers semi-decent PVE.

Tera has a lot of potential with the combat system, but the complete lack of PVP, and the horrible grind to get gear so you can pvp competitively is holding the game back. Combined with the UI issue, terrible nexus, and lack of end game variety, Tera is a good looking flop.

But it's Korean, so I kinda assumed it was going to be like this going into it.

The thing is... if everyone have problems farming then gold would be an issue for everyone and prices will drop.

If the price is not dropping that means there exist enough people who have no problem farming...

If EME made, for example, more gold drop on mobs, it just means price will go up because everyone have gold. It is already happened with Chrono Scroll...

Gold drops for level 28 gears can how hit 240 gold, where before they are around 100.

Chronoscrolls aren't making such a difference. People are selling them for around 1.5k in trade on my low-pop server.

They were cheaper before, because more people were running those instances. Now, there are not many people running mid-game instances, and the ones who do, are often alts of players with level 60 mains who can afford to spend.
