Graphics Autoadjust Question and Discussion

I've noticed after about an hour of playing, the graphics on TERA seem to dumb down in terms of resolution-wise until I close and reopen the game. Then they go back to normal, and the same cycle begins again. couple hours of play, texture resolution drops, have to reopen again, looks fine again. I was told alot of people get this, and no one knows how to stop it. Has anyone at all figured out how to stop this yet? It's gonna drive me up the [filtered] wall.

Feel free to post here with your specs if you do get it, I'd love to find out what the common factor here is.

I've got..
AMD Phenom II x4 840
AMD Radon HD6850
4GB ram
Windows 7 32bit

Bump. Does no one else really have anything to say about this?

Haven't encountered this issue.

Intel Core i5-2500K
XFX 5850 Black Edition
8GB RAM
Win7 64-bit

Only time my graphics are reduced is if I'm in a party (even though I have the option disabled). When I leave the party it goes back to the level I set it to.

It's your ram most likely, get more, or use a mem cleaner

You can get 8 gigs for what, like $50-$80? I remember paying for half a gig at some crazy price of like $200...

He can't use more than 4GB anyways since his OS is 32-bit.

Yeah, basically this.

Tempted to go for 64bit if this will fix the issue.. also wait, being in parties could cause it?

Oh and also, I needed to apply the 3GB boot option as I was getting occasional crashes due to the game trying to allocate the entire 4GB and leaking over (which is a problem with 32bit), this would also solve this problem so I'm even more tempted.

A bit O.O.C., but is there a way to upgrade to 64bit windows 7 without having to wipe your OS and the such?

I don't see how the game can dumb down resolution/texture wise after an hour of play - I can understand maybe it becoming laggy/choppy/not as smooth. But looking at your specs, it isn't world class but shouldn't have that much issue with TERA?

There is a setting in your graphics panel that allows the game to scale the quality adaptively to maximize performance. Have you checked to see if you have this particular feature enabled? If it is checked, disable it and see if that clears up the problem.

Same issue and I have that disabled, it's as if the option itself is bugged and not turning off regardless of what you set it as.
