For people that have played beta or KN version, is there a lot of grouping or is this mostly a solo/questing game (as silly as the sounds for an MMO we all know it happens).

I an going to play a lancer so I am needed, but wondering if TERA is more on the EQ/FF (pretty much have to group) or SWTOR (lol, group?) side of the "groupability" meter.... thanks

Either or. I soloed my sorc to 31 right now, didn't complete a lot of the group BAM missions cept a few that could be soloed. A few people I know thats ahead of me and can't share played the game in a group, you get better loot, but you can level anyway you like, the quests give you enough exp so you don't have to grind.

Anyone else?

Ive been grouping with buddies since the get go. 3 of us and its fun to quest in a group and bams and what not. Makes it easier to run dungeons as well.

I main a lancer as well, most of the good stuff is pretty much near impossible without a group. I find this game has a good balance of soloing/grouping up, both are effective and fun depending on the type of player.

I find it's a really nice mix actually.

Group up for BAMs and Dungeons, solo through quests. You can group up for quests if you want to, but you don't have to :)
