Guaranteed lvl 60 after 2nd week of retail, what then? PVE Server

Way to misinterpret the OP. I asked for ideas on what to do after you hit 60 with all your +12 items.

But since some of you think it takes a hardcore gamer to reach cap level at that speed, I'll share my information. According to the posts on Steparu's site and a few of his friends on KTERA, a lot of efficient levelers will get to 60 two weeks after launch.

Open Beta = Saturday, Sunday (16 hours, I'm not playing on Friday)

Head start = Saturday, Sunday (16 hours, I'm not playing on Friday)

Retail = Monday-Friday (3 hours each day so 15 hours total), Saturday-Sunday (16 hours) X 2 (two weeks)

16+16+15+15+16+16 = 94 hours total to reach level 60 (That is a total of 3.92 days)

You are mistaken if you think it takes a lot of time to hit level 60.

Don't forget about the time needed to get all your orange gear and getting them to +12 (even with the -1 removed, it'll still take weeks if not months)

Anyways, thanks for some of your suggestions. I'll probably just work on improving our guild website or something. I'm not sure if I want to further advance my social life; it's expensive. I don't have kids or a family to worry about, thank god.

There will always be people who will rush to max level and then complain about having nothing to do. Players will always consume content faster than devs can make it. This is a truth you have to accept about MMO's.

On the other hand...

I don't know about anyone else but i certainly don't have the time to grind to max level in 2 weeks. I plan to enjoy the game in more ways than just levelling! I'll be levelling multiple characters as it is anyway.

Obnoxiously antagonistic post.

I'm sorry? I've said nothing in this thread other than this:

Getting to 58 doesn't take long at all, even at a casual pace. And why are there so many in this thread insistent on proving they have a life? Stop being so immature.

which you apparently didn't read.

I've heard that 40+ leveling slows down a great deal.

Maybe someone who has some KTera experience could clarify that for us?

In either case, there IS stuff to do at 60, like take over a province and then work to hold it, for example.

I have maxed characters in JP Tera and, while it does slow down to some extent, it should still go quickly even for casual players. The only people I could see having trouble are soloing Mystics and Priests.

As for your second statement, I don't disagree. I've played JP for 8 months and we don't even have the 60 patch yet. I was merely pointing out the flaw in your logic. Coincidentally, neither I nor the OP were complaining about the lack of endgame content. I know very well what there is to do in this game, and the OP was asking a simple question.

I love how so many responses are "Don't play so much". Whilst many people will take a good deal longer, the fact remains, especially if you're throwing out a monthly fee for a game, that it becomes your main game.
The fast levelling is a valid concern, not just for people putting money out on the game, but for the game itself. If there's no real substance at level cap, I don't even see the point of trying to + up all your gear.

The whole "I will play very slowly to give the company more time to catch up with other mmo's" is exactly why MMO companies can keep putting out unfinished nonsense. If people weren't so desperate to have the next game because it looks better than the last one, and actually cared about the content, refusing to pre-order and subscribe to such games would force the developers to actually get their act together and not release half finished games.

This is applicable to this game more than any other. RIFT ran out of steam real fast due to the level cap being easily attainable even for a casual player playing a few hours just a few nights a week. This game has been live in Korea for over a year already, unlike RIFT, and if there's really no discernible new content other than a few instances, it really looks like the devs are pretty much over the game, and just adding a few time wasters in the hope that the players will think they are getting their money's worth.

Isn't it time that as paying customers, we got just a little bit more for our money, and stopped having to make excuses for why these games are in the state they're in?

This is a good thing, since higher level players will be able to start getting into the political system much faster. Having higher level players quickly in Tera will actually end up improving the overall experience of leveling for this reason, since all those trainers and special vendors can be turned on.

Besides, you should play the game how you want to. If you like to level super fast, then do it. If you like to take things slow, then take 'em slow. It's all personal taste. One way isn't better than the other.

it took my zerker friend 5 days to go 1-60 on kTERA. he played a lot, but nothing extreme (something like 16 hours a day, 6-7 hours of sleep) granted, he had an established economy already so he could buy golds and stuff (otoh he solo'd a lot) and easy to find instance parties with guild/LFD

he did have the ktera 30% XP fairy, but from testing, NA has global 30% xp boost so we have same XP.

its not hard to cap fast lol.. even if you're the type of person that is busy with work and school if you play 2 hours a day you'll cap in 2 months or so if you're somewhat efficient

I'll have +12 orange gear, twiddling my thumbs waiting for BGs and raiding content (not rifts).

I'll also be crafting up a storm, doing my part to stimulate and regulate the player economy. And helping my friends get their gear since I know I'm a bit faster than most.

lol at the guy above me thinking 16 hours a day isn't extreme. And no, I don't want to hear your stories of how much some guy somewhere played...it doesn't make 16 hours any less ridiculous.

Well once you've rammed your way to 60 and completely ignored the game in its entirety I suppose you can set up a bridge league.

Seriously, i do respect your tenacity and dedication towards TERA. Sadly it will be short lived, TERA will be a flavor of the month in NA. That is a constant shared amongst many of the MMO's with in resent history, no matter K/J/NA MMO. WoW, FFXI, EQ did something no one has replicated and stayed strong for +10 years.
