I'd start at the basics, learn what google is etc. then move to search engines in general, finally get to reading stuff.

We are aware of the log in and support issues after this morning's maintenance and we are working on getting everything back up as quickly as possible.

I have been having issues logging in since update as well.
The common factor I have seen between my toons in I can log in OK as long as toon is NOT parked in Highwatch. If I try to log in a toon in Highwatch, the loading screen gets to 30% each time, then I get the #ffff error. It does the same thing on any toon I have parked in Highwatch.
I logged in on a toon that was not in Highwatch ok, did some quests on Isle of Dawn?, then did the special dungeon for Tera points, finished it, took portal (to Highwatch), and that toon then also gave log in error.

@oldsnow: I would try to do a repair of your game files from the Tools section of the launcher, as it sounds like perhaps some of your files are corrupt. The FFFF error is basically just "the game crashed for an unknown reason".
