Harsher Punishment to Tanks leaving groups

This may only be happening to me since I am a Berserker, But I have noticed 4/5 runs the tank ALWAYS leaves the run the second he see's another plate. I would really like to see a much! harsher punishments towards these people.

I would suggest stacking their "leave" timers. Leave once 15mins, leave again 45mins etc. (it should not reset for the entire day or WEEK!) Or Another means of punishment, so they are not allowed to do this BS!

You spend 30mins in a queue timer, and then your stuck with 4 other people re-queuing for another 30mins, and we all know no one sticks around for that. Forcing people to leave and get 15min dungeon block timers.

Enmasse, you need to find a workaround for this issue ASAP! it's getting worst over time. And please don't tell me to make a group on my server. It takes just as long, if not longer to make a group, and the same issues exist.

as soon as you get into any dungeon... pull a mob... now if the tank leaves, he is stuck on the dungeon cooldown timer, instead of just the 15min debuff.

also, once warriors can queue as tanks... the tank finder timer will be much lower.

They don't just leave because of another plate, seems like they leave for any little reason, including just one wipe.

I agree, it's getting bad - you wait for how long in queue and then 50% of the time someone leaves, at least on Frost Reach. Seems like there's zero patience in MMO's these days, everything is "instant" gratification or quit. OP is right, there needs to be a stiffer penalty - but it needs to apply to EVERYONE. It's not just tanks causing issues here.

I'd run dungeons with my guild but everyone is spread out on levels right now and not too many of them are on in the mornings when I have time to log on.

Easier said then done, sometimes you don't have a chance to do that. And warrior queuing up as tanks won't change much, 90% of warriors can't even dps and evade attacks, let alone actually tanking/evading. Then we will have other people leaving because the tanks terrible. A punishment period! is required for all people who leave over, and over.

think about it this way... there are probably around 10x as many warriors as there are lancers.... so even if 90% wont tank... that leaves 10% that do... that would mean that there would be as many lancer tanks as warrior tanks(which is a decent assumption... although i think the number would be more like 20% willing to tank)... but going with 10% willing to tank, that would mean double the tanks queueing at one time... which means half of the queue time.

if 20% of warriors queue as tanks, then there would be 3x as many tanks, which would mean that there is a third of the queue time.

the issue i have is that im a tank, and cant queue as one... so if the lancer leaves, im forced to wait for a tank or 4man... if they would just make dungeon finder more like wow dungeon finder, where you can invite anyone from your server to fill an empty slot... this issue would be solved for me.

as for harsher punishment for leavers, i think there should be some sort of karma system put into place.

I'd be fine with some sort of "Deserter" debuff for anyone who leaves a party. Perhaps make it so you can't re-enter an instance for an hour, when the buff wears off - and until that point you're marked as a deserter (or an Outlaw on a PvP server?).

The biggest problem I see with this is figuring out when it's ok for someone to leave. Obviously when the run is over you should be able to leave without penalty - but if the group decides to end the run early, you'd need a way of detecting that - or if a member AFKs and the others leave, 4 people shouldn't get flagged because one AFK'd and they didn't want to wait.

I'll be honest - I love to run dungeons. Not being able to finish them is annoying as hell. Because of this, I'm actually starting to look at GW2. Everyone says an MMO is about the community and sticking together, teamwork etc, yet first sign of any trouble and they leave the dungeon. Jeeze man, go play ME3 if you're gonna be like that. There is no "I" in TEAM.

Agreed - Warriors should be allowed to tank, and an adjustment to the class needs to be made to assist with this a little (not a lot). We need 2 tank classes, it's fairly obvious.
