Having some trouble with Duels as Lancer

So, I've rolled on a PVE server, as it was the only RP server (If they had given us an RP-PVP server, I'd be there instead.) I've gotten to level 34 here, and I just recently noticed something odd:

Whenever you're a lancer in a PVP Duel, the game seems to throw the object collision out the window. That is to say, I can stand there with my shield up blocking, and someone can walk right through me.

For Slayers and Warriors, it makes sense if they can roll through you - they are the more acrobatic class, and it works that way against enemies, as well. It's a great survival tool to get to the other side of the enemy, and I would never ask them to change this for the world.

But to be able to walk through you leaves me a little confused and leaves me feeling disadvantaged. If I put my shield up, people can walk through me and start beating on the healer on the other side of me.

Further, I Feel like a lot of the skills don't operate the same. The charge seems to only connect on the first hit, not any of the hits there after, making it a lot less useful to use. There's no 'stopping point' in the enemies body to rely on, so I wind up with a lot less control of my character because of it. A lot of my attacks seem to go right through enemies because of the lack of stopping points - my AoE spin, for example, can sometimes step me a step too far forward, and the enemy will be considered 'too close' or 'too far behind' to be hit beause of it.

I find it a little frustrating, and was hoping to see if anyone could give some advice on these things.

I hear that if you duel in areas like towns and camps, collision detection is either turned off or just wacky, and can really effect duels. Have you tried dueling out in open areas?

Hmn... I'm trying to remember. I know my duel set was inside town, and then we tested one later on - but I can't remember if it was still in town or not.

If it's just in town, I might have to put that to memory and fight out of town from now on, lol.

Interesting. My friends and I were dueling just for the hell of it and we did notice that there were these collision detection issues reported by the OP, but yes we were inside towns each time.
