HeadStart and Queues

It is wrong on so many levels that people with buddy codes are even allowed to play. I thought that was what open beta was for?? I do not agree with people that are playing the game free right now getting in game, holding up the queue, over people that have paid for their headstart months ago.

I truly love this game, it bring a new aspect to a world that is MMORPG. I have confidence in EME in what ever they do. You all do have to realize some things just can't be predicted the way they turn out. Every game will have its hiccups.

Hiccups are to be expected and they've had theirs. But giving away the collectors edition items at PAX, giving away head start codes when its supposed to be a pre-order incentive... Not analyzing data from beta to see that they needed more PvP servers not PvE. The list goes on. I too have confidence as thus far they've been great. But these things are just unbalancing the awesome job they've done thus far.

That's not a "hiccup". That's a colossal mistake

Seriously - I've been a big fan of them so far but all of the perks for pre-ordering were given away for free, and we still have to deal with masses of freeloaders on the PvP servers (who cares about the PVE since there are no damn queues). It makes me wish I'd never pre-ordered, just sponged off the betas for free, used someone else's head start code and bought later if I felt like it.

At this point, might as well cancel my pre-oder since all the perks are gone, use my remaining buddy code and buy later once they get this server bull[filtered] figured out.

I totally agree, however it doesn't help that people come on here and troll the same thing about how "Deal with it" posts and issues that can not be fixed right this second... I understand that this weekend was meant for us to play since we did pay, but this stuff wont be fixed instantly.

Here is a tip for everyone in queue. Go and do something productive instead of starring at a screen watching what place you are in. Go was the dishes, do your homework, do something while waiting and the time will seem to fly by a little faster. Just a suggestion.

Quite frankly, you're not exactly qualified to make that assertion.

Anyway, I applaud EME/Bluehole for coming out and offering free transfers to people who might transfer off these overcrowded PVP servers, or just need to transfer in general.

I implore the developers to continue research on population - there have been too many games in the past where merges have had to take place after servers were added due to an "overabundance" of players at launch, which inevitably never panned out to be a solid community.

I'm excited for Tera as much as the next gal, (and believe me, I'm WAY hyped!) so let's buckle up and let them drive responsibly.

I'm willing to forgive a mistake if it's fixed quickly. I however do not if it's glossed over with free transfers or item codes as a way to compensate. NCSoft did this mistake fat too many times to its customers and as the years went on it got horrid. Took them like 2 weeks + to fix a geodata issue

We have seen how bad opening new servers can affect the long term health of games so we want to be sure that a new server is the right decision. We are less than 12 hours into a game that will be played for years, give us 1-2 days for things to settle down. For those interested in alts I would suggest queuing for Basilisk Crag and than transfering back to Valley of Titans on Monday.

As for the reason we are more full now than open beta is not buddy codes - honestly it is a drop in the bucket compared to pre-orders or even open beta registrants.

The reason there are queues is that right now you guys are playing at a 50% higher "active account to logged in" rate than open beta. At no time in a products life is there a more busy time than the first 48 hours, because it is the only time that every player wants to play at the same time. After the first 48 hours to a week things drop off significantly.

Yeah. I'd bet my last paycheck it won't change either.

People will always buy new things to try them out. Some stick around, others don't. People take time off work to play a game at launch they've been following, then go back to work and don't log on nearly as much (or as often) as before. Once everyone goes back to their normal routines, server queues will be a thing of the past.
