I'm sure you slayers out there know this problem well! Often times this ability will just strangely go through its target and do no damage. This happens more often than I'd like it to considering I'd like it to not ever happen lul... This is especially common if Heart Thrust is your first attack into combat, but happens in any scenario and the attack clearly looks as if it should be landing. Can we get a fix on this En Masse? Slayers are over powered.

I'm a slayer and I'm all for HT missing as it is currently. Forcing a melee (whose DPS is almost all AoE damage anyway) to actually aim a skill...is great.
I would like it fixed so I don't have to aim at their legs/feet if they are too close...but otherwise, it's fine.
aiming has nothing to do with it. u can aim it perfectly or not aim it at all. it has a default hit range vertically and horizontally and just randomly missed for no reason at times. u can "aim" it perfectly and it will still go through the target and do no damage at times. i agree that slayers are op and need nerfs, but an ability that does not work at times is not a proper nerf
Heart Thrust has a very finnicky animation/landing spot. I always start with Heart Thrust and it almost never misses on bosses, it misses on the smaller mobs that don't have a very large hit box. This happens because the animation makes your sword go very far forward, carrying the point of impact (the point of your sword) through a mob. Therefore, if you attack a small mob at very close range with heart thrust, the sword will most likely go right through the mob and not do any damage because the point of the sword did not connect with the small hit box (it starts through the mob already) OR if you attack from too far away, your sword does not reach the mob.
On smaller mobs I find that it is a lot easier to land HT if you are about 5 feet away and not right up on their faces.
@Fumo161 if you think slayers are overpowered now, wait until we get our carving glyphs.
test this out. melee can not aim their attacks vertically. u can aim at the sky or the ground and your attack would still hit the target should he be in front of u and within range. its just heart strike that doesnt want to land at times, and plus elevation has an effect on whether your attacks land too, such as fighting on an incline like stairs or a hill
