aiming has nothing to do with it. u can aim it perfectly or not aim it at all. it has a default hit range vertically and horizontally and just randomly missed for no reason at times. u can "aim" it perfectly and it will still go through the target and do no damage at times. i agree that slayers are op and need nerfs, but an ability that does not work at times is not a proper nerf

Thats called aiming it wrong.

dude... the only ability u can aim with the reticule on slayer is distant blade. any other ability can only be "aimed" horizontally. period. no arguments. GG. move on

If slayers need a nerf, then sorcs need a bigger nerf and warriors need a slightly smaller nerf. Just saying /logic.

Heart Thrust needs to be aimed. If you are pointed in the opposite direction, you will NOT hit your target, and if you are pointed to the side, you will NOT hit your target. Ergo, Heart Thrust needs to be aimed. Isn't this self-evident?

Heart Thrust has to pass THROUGH the hitbox of the enemy mob, and determines its damage at the END of the animation. As a useful rule of thumb, I like to position myself so that I am square in the back or front or side of the mob, so that there is no room for lateral splay in causing a miss. I also like to determine closeness distance (incase I miss by overshooting (it happens) by starting at least 1-2 meters away from the mob. Some mobs have very small hitboxes, so unless you've locked it down with a Kick or Backstab, if it moves justa bit you can totally miss it (I don't even bother with HT on hyena-type mobs, it always misses them).

Is there proof of this somewhere? Specifically the horizontally part.

Ya I noticed this a lot. It misses no matter how on target you are.

BTW you don't balance an overpowered class by giving them faulty skills, for those of you who think slayers are op.

I think it's great that we have at least *one* attack that requires a little more care in aiming - especially since it's such a high damage attack.

If you're having trouble aiming, I find that if you hit startling kick, it sets you up at the perfect range to use heart thrust. It also has the bonus of being a stun, so you can generally count on having a still target to aim your heart thrust at, which just makes it *that* much easier.
