With a beta account, does that mean we keep our accounts after the beta is done, if so can you use the collectors edition upgrade on the beta account to receive the bonus digital items

EME said that the general idea is to let us keep OPEN Beta characters, but should the need for a wipe arise they will do it.

Sure. We keep our *accounts*. Characters are another story. We receive no bonus items until Open Beta, from what I understand. Every character from then on will be retained and receive the bonus items.

Not entirely sure what you mean about "Keep". Ok, your account with EME stays. Your characters from Closed Beta do not stay on the account though. Open Beta characters do.

Also, that's a "no" on that last part. You cannot just add a $10 CE upgrade to a beta/preorder account. Your account needs to have a standard version retail key already assigned to it, not just a preorder key.

Sounds like you're wondering if since you have a beta account once the game goes live you can just buy the digital collectors upgrade and be good to go? That would be incorrect. That is only a separate option in case someone were to buy the standard edition then decide later they want the collectors edition options. You still need to purchase the standard edition of the game in order to play.

Also to those saying Open Beta characters are going to transfer over to live. Where was that mentioned? I was under the impression open beta simply means anybody can join without a key, but I believe everything will be wiped after that point and we'll all start fresh on the head start. Thus the ability to reserve your name and create your character early and such...
