Am I the only one that is okay with crafting? (sorry leather workers.. I haven't looked at it due to all the hide issues). I mean.. I crafted the 40 and 45 golds because I had a surplus of runes and sold them for my money back D: Though I can't say if the buyer kept it for long since exp bleeds through everything in this game so leveling is so easy.

The whole sorry leatherworkers part should make it very clear to you that crafting is not ok.

I don't think you even have to go as high as a level 45 axe to see that the prices on weaponcrafting are overboard. A crappy green level 20 weapon costs about 10 times as much to make as it would sell for on the broker. Luckily you can level up using ingots each tier (given, the ingots you create can't be used until you unlock the next tier), but it seems pointless to level up when the created products are never worthwhile.

I gave up on crafting at 100 weaponsmith after I realized I couldn't afford it because there was no return through item sales.

Keep this thread at the top, I would really like to play with crafting in this game... another person who likes to wear their own crafted stuff, and currently prices are pretty nuts. Maybe they think the economy will stabilize once everyone starts to get up in levels, not sure but hope it either gets changed or works out in the later levels.

As an ex-KTERA player, I have come to the conclusion that EME are the Richard Hammond of the games industry.

EME bought this beat-up car off BH that had an incredible amount of potential waiting there to be unlocked. Unfortunately, instead of getting in there under the hood and fine-tuning it until it ran like a dream, they put all their time and money into giving it a fancy new paint job, cutting off the roof and replacing it with a sun roof, putting mag wheels on it, dropping in a nice sound system etc. So the thing looks amazing! You jump in; it feels nice! But - when you start driving it, you quickly discover the clutch catches when you change gear, the power output of the engine halves when you turn the head-lights on, there is an annoying rattle coming from the glove compartment, and it blows a worrying amount of blue smoke.

hmm this is so true...i'd say 1 of the reason is because KR tera u need to farm a bit more to level during the late levels, they probably buffed the exp rate so people level faster and got out the zone faster, thus less people farming bams and less drops, but they never nerfed the crafting so it doesnt match right now

I can't say I really have a problem with the titan rune requirements. On occassion I've had bosses in a dungeon drop a fairly large stack of them. To me, bosses and BAMs are fun, so I just ask a few guildies to help me out, and they're more than happy to help me get some runes from time to time.

What I don't like however, is the number of named runes you need. To me those are rediculous, some of the recipes ask for them by the hundreds, yet when they drop, they drop one or two at a time, every five mobs or so.

Yeah this is a very serious issue for 250+ crafting. While leveling LW at around level 40 I crafted a blue set of armor for appearance, with each piece costing 12 of the appropriate level of titan rune. I thought that was rather well balanced considering the resources I had on hand, the fact that I had farmed CR due to level cap, and the stats of the armor. As well the fact that it was not needed to level, so there was no bottlenecking, it was just a luxury set I made to see what it looked like more or less.

However now at 250+ Weaponsmithing in order to advance my skill I need 45 Titan runes. Per craft. On a white weapon. That is insane. If it was normal runes I'd still [filtered] but it would at least be an understandable situation, but requiring group runes just to level, and the fact that what I am making is purely enchant fodder is infuriating. Titan runes should be used in recipes that deserve them, ie blue and gold items, not in whites or greens for leveling.

OMG Thank you Zirren. You've explained the problem with crafting much more beautifully and clearly than I ever did. I've had many discussions since CBT2 about this with my guild and on forums and they just DID NOT GET IT! If they don't get it after reading this.... Idk. They seem to think its cool that drop rates on archrunes are jacked up because of higher lvl, they think its cool to need way more of them than necessary to boot, and they think we should all feed a master crafter (which sounds communistic to me tbo...) so we can get weapons made, which wont work anyways because one person likely wont reach 300 crafting by the time the guilds drop rates get murdered. Maybe armorcrafting, but not weapon.

And yes, after 250 crafting (weapons) you WILL need 1750 Normal Archrunes and 725 Titan Archrunes to reach 300 skill. After it gets to keyrunes, costs suddenly drop. Armorcrafting is slightly less, but still too many archrunes used period. I have my Weapon, Armor, and leather sitting at 250 and alchemy sitting at 300 waiting for some kind of change to this crap. Pointed this out at the end of CBT2... almost 3 months later...

They did change the alchemy system slightly tho to make it simpler and slightly less expensive, thats it. I Believe crafting a Healing Elixer VIII took like 300 stoppered bottles before they changed it. THAT was a big LOL. I personally make potions for myself, not to sell. But as someone mentioned, no one would buy them at the price you have to sell them for to make even 1copper profit.

There were multiple fixes suggested to make this better, some of these new:
1. Reduce the amount of runes needed in that range
2. Remove Titan rune requirement out of all common equipment recipies
3n. Sell runes at the vendor for the same price as parts at the same tier.
4. Increase rune droprate (that only happened for keyrunes aparently >.>)

Oh.. and ib4 "Crafting is not for everyone"

Do asian gamers like crafting like this and spending 12 hours using 40k and 200 scrolls to reroll stats on equipment? It seems like every single asian MMO is like this. I find it boring and a waste of time. I don't want easy crafting like wow clones have but would prefer somewhere in the middle. I loved crafting in EQ2 and vanguard.
