High level craft recipes requiring ridiculous amounts of Titan runes.

Crafting is prohibitively expensive and a waste of time at the current state. This is about all it sums up to.

That said, I can understand the overall goal of this to be yet another gold sink to prevent the economy from tipping off to one end, but in the end, just makes this aspect of the game useless. Low level potions are also at the extreme range for the new characters, making it so they don't even want to buy any consumables in order to have money to buy their skills.

It's too much. Make it stop.

I initially enjoyed crafting in TERA, and then I hit the Titan rune wall.

Seriously. they don't drop nearly in the quantities the recipes seem to dictate. I'm a dedicated crafter, it's what I do in these games. In Diablo II I was a cube-crafter, in WoW I was a crafter, in Fallen Earth, in LotRO, in Rift i was a Guild Crafter.. I craft with nano-templates in the Firefall beta...but though I love this game, its crafting is so completely broken I gave it up, and that's a first for me.

I've found it make much more sense to simply sell drops on the Trade Broker and deposit the winnings into the guild coffers, because then at least I get the feeling that I'm making something.. a pile of gold..

But I would much rather be crafting.

Umm... in every game I've ever played the low end items are almost always more expensive to craft than if you sold the base materials. Often this is because higher level players who don't want to be bothered to go back and farm mats themselves will raise the prices of said mats. by willing to pay more than what an appropriate level character could hope to afford.

As to the rarity of some mats, is the item really worth all that effort? Especially something in the 30's-40's which you'll out-level fairly quickly.

I agree with this tread. It's insane at how out of wack this system is. The ammount of runes required for worthless recipies, that other than to gain points to eventually hit towards higher crafted gear levels for such small if not any gain at all, is just astounding.

There is absolutely no reason to bother with any crafting outside of Alchemy currently in this game. It's the most inefficient I've ever seen in a MMO (and I have been playing MMO's since 1998). I am not going to harp on something that's been discussed ad nauseum but once you get to 250 by smelting ore there is no good reason to actually craft an item. Everything you can get through story quests or drops (dungeons or BAM's) will be better, and not cost you a fortune.

At level 50ish your Story Quest gives you a reward for a recipe for a gold weapon (you choose base on your class), the material requirements are laughable. This to me was the nail in the coffin for bothering with crafting anything outside of potions for myself.

Anyways all this is basically moot, if you're a MMO old timer you've learned that the only tradeskills that will ever be worth a poop in an MMO are whatever the games skill that creates potions and enchants yer stuff.

I really hope EME is looking into the crafting system. In its current state it's completely not worth leveling up. My Armorsmithing and Weaponsmithing will remain at 252 most likely, just because of the ridiculous amount of runes that are needed to craft something.

The only profession that I have at around 350 is alchemy, which makes some money back because of potions, but still.

i've been leveling all the professions

so far I haven't used anything because you find vastly better stuff in dungeons or quests.

also I was wondering if there was a wat to preview crafted gear before you make it, ctrl-right click doesn't work. you can preview crafted items in wow, hope they'll add it.

MMO old-timer here.

Yeah, I know generally being an apothecary and enchanter/runecrafter is usually the most efficient way to go across most games, but sometimes efficiency isn't the goal.

In my case, traditionally tailoring and armorsmithing have been more rewarding since my goal was to put together fun ensembles for my characters to wear, and depending on game, some looks could only be brought together by crafting them.

So I am doubly frustrated that all outfits you can make in the game can be used as remodeling templates! I mean, that's cool, but then there's the present (I'm hoping not permanent) crafting systems.

Titan rune requirement needs to be either drastically lowered or just removed for all recipes that aren't blue or gold.

As an ex-KTERA player, I have come to the conclusion that EME are the Richard Hammond of the games industry.

EME bought this beat-up car off BH that had an incredible amount of potential waiting there to be unlocked.

You played KTERA and don't know that BHS owns EME?
