StarHarrier on 05/21/2012, 04:35 PMExcuse me if I've missed any response, but I've been under the impression that all of us that are disgruntled about "Premium Items" would be addressed soon. Can you give us an ETA for this address please?
This is pretty much my issue at this point. These discussions have already proven to be a pretty massive concern for a lot of people.
No response at all. Check for yourself:

im not arguing in favor of paying more money for things... but these are VANITY items... if you dont want em... dont buy em... the ppl who want them will buy them... you pay for your subscription... which allows you to play the game... dont expect to get extra. when you pay to get into a theme park, you expect to have to pay for food... this is the same way.
check the poll, more say no then yes. It's in the other thread (not petition)

lol at people who think EME as a company is made up of only 4 people. It takes weeks if not months for a company to bring things to the public, there are things like market test and financial reviews and a whole mess of other things. The same 30-50 people on the forums complaining about it, not every forum related to Tera has thousands in a out cry. So unless you want to pay them what they will get from keeping the online store, I cant see them taking it out just to please these babies.

The thing with several louder members of this board is that they believe their $15 entitles them to everything that is developed for the game.
They never got the memo it's not 2004 anymore.
Developers needn't spend time and money creating the fun little toys that people enjoy. There's much more longevity in pouring resources into the next carrot on a stick. In essence, while one could argue the vanity items are content, they're not game changing content, and they quite very literally are the developers/publishers way of getting a little extra cash out of those willing to pay for useless if amusing baubles. It's content, but acquired in a different way than plundering a dungeon or following the dots to earn a prize in an event.
What you're seeing right now is EME waiting out the storm they knew they'd kick up releasing the store. People are inevitably going to be upset, whether because they feel mistreated because they firmly believe their $15 should get them everything, or because they irrationally believe the cash shop will inevitably lead to selling power. At least the former group has a legitimate concern, though service providers are clearly moving away from the $15 covers everything model, simply because history says it will work.
Today, the only real difference between a P2P and an F2P is the mandatory subscription fee for the former. F2P's are just far more likely to sell pay-to-win items because they need to really encourage players to pay, since a monthly sub isn't exactly a part of their planned income.
