That is patently false.

One person looks at elin in panties and goes, "Ooh, sexy!" (like a few on this forum :P)

Another sees it and says, "That's kinda weird."

Yet another sees it and says, "That's disgusting. Children shouldn't be sexualized like that.", and maybe she says this because SHE was sexualized as a child so the sight of the elin invokes feelings of empathy in her.

Experience dictates reaction. Psychology 101.

Its false? Thats why they can do studies to tell who is going to be sucessful in life by 4th grade?
I did a database design for a college in Florida and based on things as simple as race, gender, amount of siblings, status of parents, etc of their applicants I was able to accurately determine the % of people who would exceed, fail, and float for 6+ years without much progress. As well as auto flag potential candidates for failure and success as they applied.

But no people aren't predictable.

Stop the psychological BS derailing.

Too many people in this thread act as if they are psychological majors. Google Degrees >>>> That way.

As another poster said. This thread lost its charm a long time ago.

Ok seriously enough with the Elin "debate" (if you can really call ping ponging tired old overly repeated arguments back and forth a real debate) take it to one of the Elin threads. As for all the complaints about the other changes. I can't help but find it funny in the old forums after EME announced their plans to westernize the game a bunch of doubters kept going on and on saying "they're going to be just like every other company D: they won't really westernize it they'll just translate it" implying that they wanted them to really westernize it and now that they actually are they're complaining about it.

And then we get that meaningless pseudocensorship that visually changes practically nothing, doesn't even touch the real problem by the slightest, doesn't unhurt real victims - while "addressing" a "problem" of nonexistent fantasy characters (that may like to [filtered] all fantasy day long for all we know).

It's not about "who gets hurt". It's about focus groups not liking a game with little girls in panties in it.

So they censored it. Mystery solved...

Because you can't predict traumatic life-changing events?

Experience >>> all else. Now let that be the end of it.

I totally agree.

That's the other thing to remember here: EME gets whined at no matter what they do, so as I said at one point, the forums are always going to be more of a sounding-box for manchildren than a place of discussion between developer and customer (though EME tries a lot harder than say, Valve, who won't ever deign to post on their own TF2 forums).

Actually you can predict who is more susceptible to it/likely to have it happen to them, based on basically everything I said last time as well. However, yes lets move on from you being wrong again.

Prove to me you can predict a loved one being tragically killed, someone being raped, being hit on the sidewalk by a drunk driver, etc. and you may have an argument here.

Experience dictates a person, and if you can predict ALL of the experiences a human being will have in life with any degree of certainty, you should be using that crystal ball of yours to buy stock in the next Microsoft.

I agree that, yes, you can weigh a person's POTENTIAL, but that's still counting eggs before they've hatched...

I didn't bother to read all the posts but it sounds like Destian is saying that you can't predict what is going to happen to someone. And Mangix is saying that you can predict what is likely to happen to someone.

Two different things, both right?

Regrettably, this thread somewhat spiraled into being an elin debate again. :\
