So, I've been hearing a ton about this game. It seems pretty cool. I was really thinking about making the leap from what I read, but I decided to stop here first.
Is this game viable for the person who is more a weekend player? Is it easy to find groups with the dungeon finder?
How do you guys enjoy it so far, any complaints that a casual person may have?
Thanks in advance!!
It's casual friendly until end game, where it becomes much more difficult.
If you dont know how to dodge and maximizing your damage while dodging, you will cause groups to fail.
It is very casual friendly.
I have had nothing but bad experiences with the dungeon finder, but that is to be expected in a xserver lfg. The wait is long and when you finally find a group it is a guild group filling thier last spot for a speed run. Every group I have been in in the dungeon finder has been [filtered]s. The biggest issue is that most ppl will not take you until you until you have max leveled the dungeon because they want fast runs for loot.
It is fairly easy to find a group spamming chat if you are a Lancer, otherwise you get a group and wait while spamming for a Lancer. The good news is if you roll a lancer you will always have a group.
I am loving the game but I have a core group I play with, leveling is much easier/fun in a group. If you like to solo only this is probably not the game for you. If you can find a good guild you should be in good shape.
It's very casual friendly. You will find some classes have less trouble finding a group with the dungeon finder than others.
If you are a casual gamer the easiest class to play is the warrior. Now have fun!
Haven't played till the end game, but so far (at level 30) I'd say it can be played as casually as you want to. Leveling is fast, and the quest chains appropriate in difficulty and don't make you run around for ages to get places or other such nonsense.
The dungeon finder can take a while for dps, but it's pretty easy to find groups just from chat. People have been friendly and it's easy to meet others and group up if you're all in the same area and about to take on the same group quest. Most people are new and still figuring out how to play so I haven't encountered any "that's not how you play this" elitism. Questions in area chat also get answered all the time. (At least that's my experience so far on my pve server. I heard pvp servers are more competitive, and cross-server dungeon finder parties may tend to be less nice than parties formed manually.)
The biggest factor in whether you like the game will probably be the combat and movement system. It's pretty different from other MMOs but I think it's very learnable if you're willing to make the effort to get used to it.
