How well will my pc run Tera?

My current setup is:

CPU: AMD Phenom X6 II 1090t Black OC @ 3.8 ghz
RAM: Corsair 8gb
GPU: ATI Radeon 5870 1gb
PSU: Corsair 850 watts

I am planning on upgrading my GPU to an ATI 7970 2gb sometime in the summer but I will be using the 5870 for a while after release.

Also, can people who have played the beta post their rigs, settings they played at and at what fps? This way we can all have a better idea of what kind of pc we need for how we want to play. Thanks.

You should be able to run it just fine. Have a 4890 and i5 2500k and rarely notice framerate drops/issues.

And by "fine" i mean on max everything with good fps.

I might be ok, I'm just worried about yoru CPU.

Your GPU is fine for sure, but Tom's has your CPU listed as the same teir as

Core i5-750, -760, -2405S, -2400S
Core 2 Extreme QX9775, QX9770, QX9650

My wife's system on a C2D OCed to 3.6ghz was getting very bad hitching and slowdown problems in kTera. Her GPU was a 580 GTX, so I knew it wasn't that.

My i7 930 was running the game great, so I bought her a new mobo, CPU and ram. Got her the same X58 i7 System that I had, overclocked it to 4.2ghz and then Tera was running great.

So since your CPU is listed as roughly the same power as the 775 socket Core 2 stuff, I'm kinda worried.

If it runs the game good, then don't change it, but if you notice problems, then get a 1155 socket system and a 2500k or 2550k CPU.

As for your proposed GPU upgrade, get the 680 GTX instead. Same performance as the 7970, about $30-50 cheaper, and the adaptive vysc is awesome for games like Tera.

Its a Phenom Hexcore, he'll be fine.

Running max settings @ 1920x1080:

i5 2500k @ 4.8ghz (OC) w/ corsair h100
XFX r7970 @ 1000/1425 (factory OC)
corsair 8gb (2x4gb) @ 1600 mhz

Runs at 80 fps (cap) everywhere besides Velika. Runs 60-75 in Velika depending on how many people are there.

5870 should run Tera max with decent fps. I would honestly suggest you buy a GTX 680, instead of a 7970, when you get the money--newer card, better performance.

i would also consider upgrading that CPU too.

Cores mean nothing in gameing, past 2-3 cores.

Also, it's the architecture and clock speeds that's most important.

They have it listed as same gaming performance as Core2quad stuff(which performs bad on kTera), so it's obviously not blazing fast in gaming.

Like I said though, if it runs good, keep it, if not, that is your problem.

Yeah Its a Phenom. 1090t Black Edition.
@ 3.8ghz
Which is more than enough clock speed to properly support a 5980.
the architexture is fine, thats about the equvilant of a Core i7 920@ 3.2ghz.
In my opinion he should have a Core i7 920/930/2600, intels architechture is better for games especially unreal, but that CPU has enough power for the game.

Well according to the charts, 3.8ghz 1090t black edition is = to Core i5-750 / core2quad stuff, which isn't THAT good.

Tera is very CPU heavy game, my wife' OCed core2duo handled a lot of modern games fine, but it ran tera like crap, and the benchmark charts put that 1090t in the same league as Core2 stuff, so I would say that it might be an area of concern.

And the 2500k / 2550k runs games exactly the same as 2600k, for $100 less on the pricetag.

You'll seriously be fine OP. I'm running an Athlon II X4 640 and it pulls the game without any problems.

That 5870 is more than fine as well.
