I fail to see how a properly clothed female human is hypersexualized.

Except, that's not correct at all. /sigh Internet, oh you.

So you think designing a breast plate and some crotch armor is just as difficult as designing a breast plate, pauldrons, gauntlets and all the rest of the body armor? I understand that making it look good while being less in a design sense would provide some difficulty, but I would definitely not think it would be AS difficult as designing full body armor.

Agreed. I have been watching TERA streams on twitch.tv for some time. There is one player who has a max level Castanic Slayer, who has the top armor. The armor was ... Red string. Really just tiny red strips across the breasts going down the arms etc. Pretty the bare minimum possible without considering the character fully nude, Aside from one leg and half of the butt, witch was covered in chain mail.

I don't really mind it myself, but I wouldn't really say that the armor in question took a creative mind or a ton of work ...

See I actually kinda feel both sides on this. I think the armor looks really appealing myself. But at the same time I could see how people with families or fathers with little girls would be turned off by this type of content. After all you wouldn't want your little girl to dress like that.

I was born female. I'm the golden age of 27.

I am asian-amerikun, so no stranger to overt sexuality every time I turn on my PC, my cable, go to the mall, go to the bar, or sit at home in the nude.

I am actually really excited about the art and sexuality. This isn't a game for my children. Better, this isn't a game placating to the overly sensitive and demure. I don't care about complainers' desire to wear mu-mus in a blood splashed action fantasy game. Play something else if you don't like the way the game looks. I dare say not every game is made for everyone.

I loved walking into a foreign version of TERA to the great busty, statues in the first city airing out their nips. I laughed and thought about my first time seeing the David in person. I can't find anything disgusting or embarrassing about a great looking body when you see one.

@ the OP. Really? Most (fantasy) games, comic books, movies, tv shows sexualize their women.
If you want to compare, there are other games that have skimpy clothing with a teen rating. BHS and EME are intentionally shooting for M so one would expect it to be pushed a further. Not worth discussion.

What is everyone's feeling on this? I laughed a few times when seeing the "armor" of female castanics, humans and elves. I understand the appeal to making the women sexy or cute, but I honestly feeling embarrassed showing this game to some of my friends. The art style of women look like they're targeted towards hormonal 16 year old boys.

When male and female models are hypersexualized it's not sexist. It's hypersexualization. Also, 16yr old boys are not legally allowed to play Tera. Question, why is it only men who seem to bring this up, when every woman i've talked to about it can't see a problem.

Being a girl myself, I honestly don't mind. Maybe it's due to associating myself with others who are mature enough to realize that just because someone has a nice looking body and feels good showing it, that it does not make them purely objects of sexual ambitions. Or it could be that I'm just used to seeing it so much that my mind has adjusted to it.

Agreed :)

As for the OP, I think the gear looks stunning and it shouldn't be anything to be embarrassed about, but to each their own :)

lulz! Great .gif Astrozombie - Saved!

Just my Opinion.

Looking at the "Korean-origin mmo ported to English" genre, Blade & Soul is next line for hype and guess what their art direction looks like? <insert>t look American, it looked exotic. Much in the same of historical comparisons like L2 vs EQ2, both sophomores of their brand during dev and releasing 2003 and 2004, respectively. Both with drastically different art styles with fantasy themes.
