I pay a monthly fee because I hate cash shops

First off everyone who tries to derail the thread will be reported so you have been warned.

I have *no* problems with the following being charged on top of a subscription fee:

Server-Transfer (prevents people from doing it every week)
Name-Change (same thing)

Whats the point of a race/faction change? Once a player has done that stick to it or start from level 1 again but ok if you want to put that in, whatever.

I do have problems with the following:

So called "vanity items" guess what? I pay a monthly fee and this fee will be used to maintain the servers, hire devs to create stuff like that so you are already charging me for this thing. Wanting us to pay again for stuff we have already paid is ridiculous and in my point of view a rip off.

Monthly Fee = vanity items have to be included

P2P + cashshop is a NOGO. People can scream about "vanity gear" all they want its part of the game I pay for it with my subscription so it should be included, period.

You clearly have not paid for them since they are charging a fee. Who says they don't have a team dedicated to creating those items and are funded buy the profits form said sales.

Give everyone the collectors edition stuff... so no.

No it shouldn't. If actual game content (dungeons, raids, BG, and the like) were part of the cash shop you could have an argument. Hell if all the end game weapon/armour skins from a new tier were part of the cash shop you would have a point.

Additional fluff items (actually the same deal for the EU as the dragon weapons for us) are not necessarily part of your subscription.

Report all you want, but the simple fact of the matter is this:

You pay to play this game online. That does not give you the right to have free goodies that someone somewhere made to model over an in-game item. Someone took the time to make it, they should be paid for their time. Would you work for free? I think not. This economy is built on a free trade where people are entitled to be paid for their craft. GET OVER IT YOU SELF ENTITLED LITTLE SNOT.

Some vanity items I would consider paying for, however, they are just that.... something extra. If you want it, buy it. PERIOD.

You are not obligated to get em, they do not change stats, just an appearance.

Want to complain, here is 50cents call someone who cares.

It's amazing that people can't grasp that the problem is not the item being too expensive or the player doesn't have a job. No, the problem is that they are charging extra money for content that should have been added to the game in an update or should have been in from the start (seeing as the game just got released).

It does not matter if it's only vanity or not. The fact remains that we're already paying a subscription for the game and its contents. This should included new content in updates, not sold to us piece by piece on top of the cost of the game and sub.

Technically nothing SHOULD be included in an update. If something is made with the intent of being sold in a cash shop that then that is where it belongs. Just because you pay a subscriptions doesn't mean you are entitled to everything that is made for the game for free. The days of Pay2Play means all the content is free is long gone. Either adapt to the new system of shuffle off.

Oh for crying out loud! I bet you complain about DLC for any other game you play and still pay for it. quit crying. EME is not the first to charge for vanity items, nor will they be the last. Warcraft makes a killing because they offer ingame items that people must have. I never once saw anyone on their forums complaining about this subject.

Got an issue, here's a tissue.

Again, most don't understand because they are using mommy's credit cards so it's pretty much free to them anyways.

They also don't understand that this could quite possibly deteriorate EME's brand and label them as a greedy company despite them just trying to be a business and increase profits.

Blizzard didn't implement their "vanity shop" 3 weeks after launch.

I see nothing wrong with a vanity store for real cash. As long as they don't sell the best items that help in pve or pvp. But mounts, pets, skins, etc. who cares. BUT as long as they also do a fair share of in-game vanity drops too. Like in WoW, they have rare mount drops, quest rewards for mounts/pets, crafting, etc.

The way I see it is if people want to pay for this then go for it, but also have drops or something for those who can't afford to keep paying for cool things. Like kids, people out of work, people who simply don't want to pay, etc.
