There are some Lancers that will abuse their need in a group to tank (until warriors can queue as tanks at least) but really... no need to generalize.

I have both a Warrior and a Lancer. I tank as both because I love tanking - its alot of fun for me. My Lancer is my main and frankly Im a little tired of all these posts bashing Lancers as the worst player personalities in the game. I will admit - I have grouped with HORRID Lancers on my Warrior in terms of personalities where its their way or the high way. It sucks, but really - generalization saying ALL Lancers are jack asses will just piss more people off.

I have had groups wipe multiple times while tanking as a Lancer when its my fault, the healers fault, or just the groups fault for not knowing the fight. I have had groups where I lost loot as in someone who doesn't wear metal armor rolled and won my loot. Yet I don't seem to have the urge to leave - I state that I have a problem with their behaviour (in terms of looting things they shouldnt be) but I have yet to threaten to leave because of that count or leave altogether.

If the day comes where someone is dissatisfied with my tanking I would WELCOME them to call me out but I would expect an explanation and tell me what I am doing wrong. Feedback is appreciated, trolling is not.

With that said, we're not all that bad. Its just a shame that the majority is making the good Lancers look horrible.

I hate to say something retarded like "Make your own lancer. Problem solved.", but that's really what it boils down to. This is the internet. The only place most people will ever get to be who they truly are in complete anonimonity (sp). Also, absolute power corrupts absolutely, and most people will abuse any small amount of it that they think they have. The solution? Don't give it to them. If you roll a DPS class your mind should be resolved to do most of your leveling outside of groups, earn money like a boss, and watch the broker for gear.

Also, hearing about so many bad lancers makes me really wary about warriors being able to queue as tanks in groups, given that warrior tanking in Tera is orders of magnitude harder than lancer tanking. People are going to be praying that they get a lancer tank for their auto-queue groups.

I play a lancer and a mystic, and takin' my damn time to get to 60 on both! XD

1. Never would do it, never seen it done (Doesn't mean it doesn't happen *woot double negative*)

2. I'll skip this one cause, how I understood that he had every right to leave. I'm assuming i got that wrong.

3. I group with my husband on his sorc. When we did slugs (dunno if that's their official name but it's what I call 'em), we found a priest who was doing them too. We invited. The more the the more the merrier.

4. response was pathetic, but he has the right to solo if he/she sees fit.

5. That one was just a complete [filtered], nuf said. Same story has 3 with the finish of me asking if he needed more or not. I would have staid if he needed more.

Any way what I'm saying is, there's always going to be at-least 1 burnt cookie in every batch. Don't blame us all for the mistakes of a few. You must just have bad luck :P

I want punch 90% of DPS that can't learn to dodge a hit and 90% of healer that some how doesn't think the tank isn't the first person they should heal and 100% of priest who thinks they are mystics -.-

As for number 1, i don't do it because i'm nice but its understandable to some degree for Fane and Balder because some one who never done it before can cause quiet a few wipes. Not nice but not without reason either.

Number 2 made no sense, this is assuming the item was already rolled so even if leader changed loot its too late he missed out on his roll or some one took his loot. So i understand the lancer been mad and leave. Also if your already picking up loot, the lancer's cd is up too so if he/she leaves probabaly because some one took their loot.

Number 3 Unless its the lancer lossing aggro the dps need to LEARN TO DODGE. Dead dps is a worthless dps.

Number 4 maybe he likes soloing? Maybe he in a group with friends who are else where? Although he wasn't nice about it its not only lancer who does thsi

Number 5 Again not only lancers, any one with leader poistion or not even leader position does this. Ditch the group moment their quest is done even if no one else's is.

For me I have yet to ditch a group but plenty of them have done retarded thing to make me mad. Most of the time though after we wipe enough coz the group sucks they leave on their own and i can use LFD and hopefully find some compatent people. Seriously today i had a priest who thought he was a mystic. He only used his target heal even though he had like 3-5 aoes heals. Barely healed at all, i look at everyone hp i see people under 50% hp for like 30s..... I personally stayed at 10k out of 70k hp tanking a boss for good 20s before i died coz the priest decide it was a good idea to just stand there doing nothing....

At least you got that far.

After hitting 60 a week ago, endgame for me has just been a revolving door of waiting 2-3+ hours in LFD, and then getting instantly kicked because I was a Berserker. Finally managed to get a second run of Ebon Tower done today. Have yet to touch Fane or Balder.

My biggest regret is that I leveled ahead of my friends. And also that they decided to re-roll, because they are casuals :<

Once they catch up, I can finally play the game. Yay. We'll just 3-man as much of the content as possible, and fill out retarded dps when we need to. In the meantime, I got a nice Archer alt in his mid 30's and a Warrior that's about to hit 22.

This whole Lancer entitlement thing is...infuriating, I'll be honest. Nothing quite like being unable to play the game because you apparently made a wrong decision at character creation.

When I bump into people fighting a bam I just jump in and tank for them.

I'm not good, but tanking isn't all that complex. I don't mind not getting xp or loot if it means giving people a hand. In the amount of time it takes to help I wasn't going to do much anyway, so why not.

Not everyone plays a class for the same reason. I'm sure some people are playing lancers simply because they get off on the power that the desire for lancers creates. Oh well. The best you can do is just blacklist them and tell other people to watch out for them. Then hopefully when everyone is tired of trying to play with them, they will revise their attitude and realize they're not as important as they think they are.

To be fair, Lancers don't get the royal treatment either. DPS have to wait for so long in queue, that many of them are frustrated by the time the Lancer shows up and tend to get pretty rude and flip out at every little thing. Everything, from the Lancer going into that instance for the first time, to losing aggro on an enemy even if it wasn't the Lancer's fault (stupid DPS runs off to attack a mob outside Lancer's taunt range = OMG BAD TANK L2P) can cause an overblown reaction.

Then there's the elitist Warriors (not every Warrior is like this, but I'm sure everyone has noticed that there's a lot of them) constantly looking down on Lancers because "block is OP and easy and takes no skill and they take our jerbs!". Worst of all, these are usually the same idiots I've seen having to be babysat by the healer because they take a ton of damage from not even being able to dodge wide swings from an enemy that is being tanked by the same Lancer they're berating. And then they die and it's the Lancer's fault. It's not just the Lancers. It's everyone. There's the Lancers who just rolled a Lancer to get short queue, there's the Slayers who rolled Slayer because they're good at soloing and PvP, there's the Warriors who rolled Warrior because the completely baseless stars in the character creation screen taunted their manliness, etc. There's idiots playing every class and every race in the game. And the shortage of tanks makes the whole community self-destructive and stupid.

Ya if you want to dungeon your going to want to be in a guild definally helps a lot. As for the zerker thing well I hate partying with Zerker I'll say it now. Honestly after doing 20 runs to finally get my drop to have some one else roll few number higher than me irrates me to no end but hey everyone else deal with it so i do too. Only thing that really irrates me is some one in the party that keep screwing up or barely does anything get loot that irrates me the most XD
Also because plate armor don't drop for [filtered] -.- so after seen the 10th leather and cloth engmatic armor drop finally a plate armor and have zerker get it on their first run is ARG!!!!..... But ya i don't take it out on the zerker just live and let live XD

4. If you're a healer, why in the world would he want to party with you? Find a DPS instead.
Lancer/Healer is the worst group to level up/kill BAMs with. You split the rewards in two, but you are far from increasing kill speed by two.

And yes, not getting a loot drop because someone you think isn't holding their own gets it is very annoying. Sadly, that's how it goes. I like tanking, but I am getting tired of action games that claim to be different ending up still using the holy trinity. If you have Threat, Damage and Healer, you're going to boil down to a traditional MMO, no matter how much you make the players move their characters. No offense to the soft-skinned, but this game plays exactly like WoW. Saying it doesn't doesn't make that so. If anything, WoW is more action-oriented because I don't get a movement penalty for attacking and moving at the same time in WoW. I play a Hunter and I'm always on the move.

But back on topic, you've gotten some [filtered] tanks, OP. When I get up there, I'll be happy to tank you. And i don't mind Zerkers. One of the best players in my guild is a Zerker and he's very friendly and helpful. I really haven't found any bad players, except on the forums. *cough*cough*
