It isn't lancers and it isn't the game. It's humanity. Join a guild and never join another PUG ever again. I have played with random scrubs in years and it's done wonders for my sanity.
A lancer who has 3 DPS in his group, they all kept dying except him, so one of them invited me (a priest) into a group after I rezzed about them multiple times while watching their fight.. The moment I got invited the Lancer said "pls look for another dps, i don't need a healer" ... his group mate response .. "but we do" . ... well I disbanded from the group immediately.
That the tank was the last to die is your first sign that the tank is an idiot. I don't know why you even joined.
To be fair, Lancers don't get the royal treatment either. DPS have to wait for so long in queue, that many of them are frustrated by the time the Lancer shows up and tend to get pretty rude and flip out at every little thing. Everything, from the Lancer going into that instance for the first time, to losing aggro on an enemy even if it wasn't the Lancer's fault (stupid DPS runs off to attack a mob outside Lancer's taunt range = OMG BAD TANK L2P) can cause an overblown reaction.
Then there's the elitist Warriors (not every Warrior is like this, but I'm sure everyone has noticed that there's a lot of them) constantly looking down on Lancers because "block is OP and easy and takes no skill and they take our jerbs!". Worst of all, these are usually the same idiots I've seen having to be babysat by the healer because they take a ton of damage from not even being able to dodge wide swings from an enemy that is being tanked by the same Lancer they're berating. And then they die and it's the Lancer's fault. It's not just the Lancers. It's everyone. There's the Lancers who just rolled a Lancer to get short queue, there's the Slayers who rolled Slayer because they're good at soloing and PvP, there's the Warriors who rolled Warrior because the completely baseless stars in the character creation screen taunted their manliness, etc. There's idiots playing every class and every race in the game. And the shortage of tanks makes the whole community self-destructive and stupid.
+1. Especially on the bit on Warriors, because I have come across a few rude Warriors myself when I que up as a Lancer. I have to be telling them to chill, because a lot of the hate is unneeded. If a person needs to finish a story quest or quests within the instance, I will do it, and if a person needs a piece of gear more than I do, I won't even roll on it and offer it, I don't need my head chewed out and to be spat upon randomly. Its no mystery why there is so few Lancers =/ too much BS comes with it.

Maybe in other games if tank is last to die its sign of bad tank but not in Tarea. Most BAM and bosses have aoes and secondary attack that will target some one who is not a tank. I can tank perfectly, not take a single hit and never loss aggro and still have all my DPS die because they can't learn to dodge a simple aoe or a targeted ranged attack.

Reason why tank and healer are least played in all mmorpgs, they are always the first one to be blamed for everything. Its lot of BS people don't want to put up with so they avoid those classes.
Once warriors will be allowed to group as tanks, lancers will fade together with their "elitist" crap. That`s for sure.
And then people will make topics about wanting to punch 90% of Warriors, because all of the idiots who rerolled as Lancers for the short queue but don't know how to tank will reroll as Warriors for that same reason and will fail magestically. It will be hilarious.

Because the option is usually group with a trash lancer and lose all your crystals with mutiple attempts... or go back into queue for 4 hours... some of us have a job, we cant spend all our time playing the game by watch the queue.

You know xD I was about to post something about that. BAMs/Bosses tend to have temporary targets throughout battle that can only be stopped via stunning it by some means, but for some reason a lot of DPS classes I have qued with lately have somehow forgotten that they need to dodge attacks, even the very obvious AoE BAM attacks. And oddly enough, they don't blame themselves for walking into that devastating attack foolishly, the first person they do want to blame for their death is the Tank or the Healer. Like really? A lot of the deaths I've seen is because the DPS believes they no longer need to dodge attacks because there is a Lancer in the group.
