Since most people seem to consider the jewelry worthless I'll simply use the lion for my example.

Lion mount that all current and future characters receive and can use across all servers =/= single character one-time withdrawal weapon skin.

Were the weapon skins $10 for the entire pack and account bound you'd probably see a lot less complaints. They're simply not a good deal in comparison to, well, basically anything else. Not only the CE items, but equivalent vanity items in any other game (except Aion apparently).

The CE (and even upgrading to it) are pre-subscription purchases. The vanity items are post-subscription services. One is a product, the other is a service. The two are dissimilar.

It's just a bunch of whiny kids sensationalizing the fact a company is trying to make money off those with expendable income.

They will probably move on after the first month. It's not like every other game that ever existed didn't have a cash shop either.

You paid 10 dollars for a a lion themed mount.. How is that any different than paying 10 dollars to change your character or get some cool looking weapon skins?

So, what were -you- doing when the US Embassy in Beirut was bombed?
How about during the invasion of the Falkland Islands?
Did you live a portion of your life worried about the Russkies dropping the bomb any day now?
Did you get to see Halley's Comet?
Did you watch MTV on it's inaugural night?
Ever know what 'Right Turn, Clyde!' meant?
Still have any 8-tracks? How about a player to play them on?
Ever have to worry about tripping over the wired remote?
Remember that odd little sound the rotary phone would make?
Remember when Commodore Amigas were going to run everything? Or when 64k was all anyone would ever need?
Remember the size and weight of a 1MB hard drive?
Ever play Pong on an original machine?
Did you watch Star Wars in the theatre?

Methinks you judge people way too quickly.

Pretty sure I covered that in the post you quoted. Perhaps you are having difficulty with the difference between product and subscription service?

The vast majority of games don't have cash shops with these prices. I spend money in cash shops regularly at other games and was insulted by these prices for what is being offered in this game's cash shop.

The only other game I've heard of that has comparable cash store prices for similar services is WoW, and I don't care about WoW and don't support that game either.

There's much more going on here than just whiny kids sensationalizing this issue
