Elitists exist regardless of DPS Meters or not. Ruination of team work will happen, if people are being epeen [filtered]s and not caring about actually finishing the fight.

Improper use of a tool is improper use of a tool, a DPS meter is a neutral tool that if used properly enhances performance of a group over all, improper use does result in epeen stroking and ruination of teamwork.

Elitist culture exists irregardless of outside tools like a DPS meter, it's a mindset that has nothing to do with the meter and more to do with how they view themselves and the rest of the games population, a DPS meter only makes them somewhat more visible due to them having easier access to numbers.

In closing I'd like to point out this, irregardless of a meter existing, people will find ways to see who is underperforming, and will take measures to exclude them. People will be elitist whether or not they can see their performance numbers or not, it's just a mindset.

and that phrase btw isnt directed at the creation of elitists (which ill touch on ina sec, to also clear that up). dps meters make it so dps players compete with each other instead of working together since you can all see whos doing more and less, its just a fact based on the other games that have dps meters. some people may like this competition over teamwork in an MMO thing, and im not gonna try to change your mind on that, im just saying id rather work with my teammates on survival instead of compete with them over whos got the highest numbers (and no i cant just "not compete," cause then youre kicked for being "bad dps.")

now on the creation of elitists, everyone against dps meters is well aware you will have elitists in any MMO regardless of dps meters, we're not saying without them there wont be any, we're just saying there will be MORE with them. the worst part is this also gives an elitist attitude to people who arent even "elite," then just happen to top meters every once ina while. basically its a different kind of elitist that is only ever present when your fellow players performance can be easily seen. again just a fact based on other MMOs with dps meters.
