I agree with everything you posted. I would also pay extra to be on a mature only server.


I'd pay extra for all the qq'ers complainers and carebears to go to another server as well.

I have a perfectly good explanation for the "rude comments." You have an UI filter built into the game to get rid of Area chat. This effectively stops all Rude comments. You no longer need to be here and the rest of us can enjoy our day knowing one less person will be giggling and laughing each time someone says something stupid in chat.

You don't like rude comments switch tabs so you don't read them (its what i do or simply ignore it), if you want to interact with people then switch channels or switch servers.

If you can't ignore the 99% of bs talk that happens then no one can help you and probably should walk away.

Creating a thread about it wont stop people from doing it, you only enrage them more such is life, shrug it off.

I have been playing MMORPGs for the past 13 years, and over the years, the level of degradation of the chat channels has been steadily increasing. It seems like the more people believe they are not responsible for their actions (or words as it would seem in this case), the worse they become.

Last night on the Valley of Titans server, I believe the human race hit an all time new low. From the second I logged in to the server until the second I logged out (5 hours later, thank you En Masse for bringing Tera to the west), the chat was flying by at a lightning pace.

For every game related question or comment, there were on average ten insulting, degrading, racist, sickening comments.

All night long, it was just one rude insulting statement after another, and it wasn't just one or two people doing it. Sadly, it was a BUNCH of people being as rude and insulting as humanly possible. This was like Barrens Chat on steroids.

People talked about how religion was a joke, and insulted every religion imaginable. They professed about how awesome every evil dictator in history was including Hitler. Racist remarks and comments were flying like crazy the whole night. It was just truly sad.

Is this what the human race has become? Are we really this pathetic that when we are anonymous, we become the most vile scum on Earth?

I came close to just logging out after a few hours of non-stop hate spam, but then I thought no... En Masse does not deserve to lose me as a customer just because the players of their game are horrible people.

I wish there was a server where your statements could get you banned from that server. I would pay MORE to be on it.
It seems you are one of the last few good people on earth. I don't ever say vile things in mmo chat (or pretty much anywhere online) because I have no real desire to say them online and that's not how I get my laughs. (real life = different talk show)
I'll get to log in and see how it is in a little while and I hope the community is more like Vanguard and not like what I hear WoW is. (never tried WoW but loved Vanguard)
I'd pay more too. Thick skin or not, I'm in a game to enjoy not just the game but the community as well and if I'm seeing a lot of negative stuff in chat it will detract from my overall enjoyment of the game. I'm glad that you made this thread OP.

I don't really care myself as I have "toughened up" and am not really affected by trolling, however I would be for the banning of people spouting crap constantly in the chat.

This thread has really exploded. I just got through reading it all during lunch. I appreciate the fact that I am not alone in my beliefs here. It gives me some hope.

As for Valley of Titans server, I have decided to roll a new character on the RP server tonight instead. I will miss not getting to kill people that annoy me (as it is not a PvP server), but well you know.

I will keep my character on the PvP server though just because I do enjoy PvP. I just will wait until later to level up after some of the trolls have moved on to "the next big game".

Blame 4chan, Reddit, WoW and everything else internet related. The whole "I can do whatever I want because I'm anonymous" is the issue. Pack mentality too. Get one alone and it's like a deer in the headlights. They revert to using real words from a dictionary, and don't speak in Me-Me.

This thread is full of "trolls" thinking they are funny because fellow trolls laugh with them. They just don't seem to realize how funny it is to everyone else being able to spot the degenerates from their style of speak.

Banning is a great option, but there is a reason it is never enforced. Money.

Ive noticed that the Tera community (in particular the forum community, but I'll expand this generalization to the entire community) is very rude, very protective of their views, very opinionated, a lot of them are down right immature. I find some of their comments funny, sure.. But then, get over it.

Its something we must deal with unfortunately.

However, just because the majority of the Tera community = little kids or grownups acting like kids, does not mean everyone is like that, and does not say anything about game quality. It is a good game. Ignore them, play your game.

It's only going to get worse at 12pst today when all the people who are "only here because it's free" login to OBT. I swear a good number of them are people who just want to bash the game and its fans while they have the chance.



If you are willing to download over 25gigs just to troll people, you have issues...


Which is why I busted my [filtered] until 11:30 last night to get off of Noob island. I want to keep ahead of the incoming wave of morons and reeeetards until the game is released for a while, and all the QQ has left.
