Instance queues excessively long?

So, I'm on Dragonfall and a sorc. I understand that I'm going to have to wait sometimes, however, once I queue, the time it says my queue is never right. And when I say not right, I mean, by leaps and bounds longer. Last night, I finally hit 35 so I wanted to do CR. I queued up and continued on my way doing quest. Before I knew it, I'd already gotten 50% through lvl 35 and STILL didn't even get to do the bloody instance. Unfortunately, I don't have hours and hours to spend in game everyday. Other than tanks, does anyone else have this issue? After about 45 minutes waiting in queue (also poking in general chat that I was looking for a group), I decided to just log out and do something else. It's my understanding that the instance finder only will group you if it can find an available group that has a Lancer and Priest. If I'm not mistaken, isn't there a "secondary" tank in the game? i.e. Warrior? And what about Zerks? If I'm not mistaken, they have a block skill too? No, both the Warrior and Zerk are strait up tanks, this I am aware of, but with a ok group of players, a Zerk or Warrior can be a stand in tank.

tl;dr: Who has ridiculous queue times and should other classes be considered for stand ins?

Also, if nothing changes by the 15th, I will be cancelling. This game isn't going to be another Aion for me :D

I think it's just that most of the pop is not eligible for CR yet. I'm basing that on what I see in my own Guild and what I see in the world at large.

I hit 35 Monday and while in Cutthroat Harbor and the areas around it I noticed that every channel was at low pop. I went back to make an alt yesterday and the first 5 channels were high.

I think most players are making alts and trying out new toons rather than power leveling well beyond their guildies.

I queue with a friend and we have instant queues. I think it's a bug for solo queues.

lack of tanks. Plain and simple. One class out of 8 can queue as a tank. Tanks are notoriously low population even in games which have more than one tanking class.

Add to that the fact that tanks generally level slower solo than other classes, and the fact that most people who are leveling quickly tend to solo more you have a very high percentage of the players eligible for the 35 dungeon being healers and dps.

Sadly, the 20 dungeon is just as bad. I have queued with a full party except for the tank and we waited 35 minutes before giving up. I have queued in pairs, solo, everything and if we dont' have a tank, it is a 35+ minute wait.

@Mkultra55 - You make a valid point. The few friends I have that play, all wanna try other toons. That was one of the mistakes I made with Aion, way to many alts.

@Unkycorona - I will test this tonight. I will get one of my friends that aren't a tank or priest to queue up with me and see how it goes.

Last night we had everything but the tank, so we queued as a group and went ahead and went in. Completed BoL without a tank (zerker did the majority of the tanking) and were queued the whole time.

Queuing as a dps, I went from level 20 to 24 before the dungeon finder found me a group.

I've queued alone as Priest, takes awhile. Usually depends on you class DPS/TANK is faster as theres More demand & less people playing them. Took 30+ Minutes, but doing it with my Zerker friend took about 10 minutes for CR out've an Estimated 14.

Here I would like to add there it is definately NOT the lack of healers. In Tera there are more than enough Healers (probably because healing in Tera is actually fun, as opposed to all other MMOs that you are forced to look at green bars).

In any case, EME and BH are currently FIXING the issue. Warrior's will have their tanking buffed next patch (Queen of Argon part 2) and so they will be able to queue as tanks. I think EME should take the extra step to buff Zergers as tanks as well.

The problem is THAT BUFFING WARRIORS NEEDS TO HAPPEN RIGHT AWAY. Otherwise people will level the entire content before they are able to find a group for instances. (Not to metion how many people will leave the game because noone like playing a single player MMO).

Yep, I read some of the patch notes that were translated for QoAp2, and I like the addition of the stamina (or whatever it was called) system for Lancers and Warriors. Seems it will give them a little more dynamic play style. I REALLY hope EME decides to add Warriors to the instance queuing as Tanks, cause I've been following this game for a really long time and love playing. What I don't love is wasting my time waiting to get to the things I wanna do in the game.

Also, just for the LOLs, anyone that played Aion will like this:

Sigh. If you are not a tank, expect a long queue time for dungeon finders. This is how it's always going to be because tanks are the most under played classes. It doesn't matter how many tank classes there are.

That being said, warriors ARE getting their mechanics tuned with the new stamina bar to allow them to be tanks again, and getting some new tank-y abilities. This is coming to ktera pretty soon, and shortly after it'll be on NA. Don't expect it to solve the issue of there not being enough tanks though.
