I just noticed the lion mounts in the game are considerably faster than the standard mounts. On a PvP server this speed difference can make a fairly big difference. I thought the mounts just looked different, and then if people wanted to pay extra for a different looking mount so be it. But now I have to pay extra to be on a level playing field again? There maybe another comparably fast mount in the game, but I've yet to find it, and if it does exist it isn't fed to you on a silver spoon right away like the purchased mounts are. When paying a monthly fee I feel all content that gives a speed or power advantage should be acquired through game play. Thus providing motivation to play the game and equal opportunity for everyone playing to acquire said items. Having to pay extra real money, In a subscription based MMO, for speed and power related items is wrong, or at least I think it is. What do you guys think?

I assumed faster mounts are available later. But until later comes it makes the person on the slower mount easier to gank, and level slower thus getting to that "later" slower than the person who paid real money for a faster mount out of the gate.

Yes, that slight advantage is there... but come on, it's low level travel. With a difference of 30 speed. Which is pretty negligible.

I overlooked the necklaces as negligible, as people don't really have all their gear "in order" at any given level while leveling and the small bonuses these extra items provide likely doesn't amount to much, but I feel speed plays a large role on a PvP server. The other day someone was chasing me around a zone for a considerable amount of time, saying funny things in very poor English, such as "cemear yew". If he was riding a lion he'd catch up to me in a matter of seconds, and it'd be all over.

Roll mystic. Speed aura, Gold 27 boots for 10% speed buff, Gathering speed buff. Speed potion.

Then get a 5 proc teleporting jaunt insta CD reduction.

Except it wouldn't be over in a matter of seconds, I don't think. I was saying a speed difference of 30 itself is negligible, that is, it's a pretty tiny boost. Any sort of tactic to shake him would probably account for the advantage, like jumping over a rock he went around or something.

30 speed difference is not negligible when you have 3 people chasing you on them. It's the difference between escaping a gank, and dying. Pay to win is fail in a subscription MMO.
