Ahaha... thats a funny thought because it is the simplest solution I have heard so far.

However, I'm tired atm but I'm still pretty sure there are a bunch of flaws with that plan though :P cross server issues, server numbers, how do they regulate this ping check, wouldn't this be the same as just designating a server as "oceanic", would people get upset that the laggers are holding back non laggers, fight break out how they aren't forced to play on a higher ping server etc.

As I said, pretty tired atm. Ill check back in morning and see if I was even a little bit coherent.

I did not read through all the post so I may have missed it but could it be the company is just not that big yet for a west coast expansion?

Latency is an issue. But it always is for us sadly. Bar some MMO's that where pretty broken at launch. My big worry with this game was always the ping and it seeming to be very ping dependent.

In game it hasn't felt terrible though. My lancer I have to hit spacebar for the shield, shield, spring combo slightly faster than it displays it, to execute it properly 100% of the time. Otherwise I just jump if I wait for the display lol

I don't also don't see why people are attacking each other in this thread. If the numbers are off slightly it really doesn't matter that much. Asking for a better positioned server isn't a crime. Nor does it really affect American's. In fact the west coast suggestion I would have thought would help some of them.

Like it or not at the end of the day if I feel overly gimped by my ping I won't keep playing this game a month/two after launch. I'm sure that will apply to many other Oceanic people as well. Which is a bit sad because I really like this game currently and the game design behind it. I also can't speak about if it is economically viable to put a server here or elsewhere and nor do I really care about that. I'm just a customer that will make up his mind based on the end product/experience.

Now I think about this. I think you mean use a server located in Korea to run an english version. I'm not sure on the exact deal they have or even if the Australia to Korea ping is that much better. Or even what the ping is exactly.

If you meant actually play the K tera version though. I don't like playing games where we can't read the text or communicate with the vast majority of people in a MMO. Also most Korean games need a KSSN to use them online, I would assume this is the same case with Tera.

They should put out a version that allows you to play on the Korean servers, but with the Englsh (or whatever language you use).

www.lowerping.com will be supporting TERA. I know I can't play without it.

[Only people with bad connections or living in remote areas have 400 - 600 ping, people living in or close to cities have around the 190 - 240 mark. It is really not as big as a problem as most make it out to be.

Best I ever saw an Aussie get in Aion was 275 with a proxy service, and that was only one guy.

Most others are well over 350 with proxy, 400-600 without.

But in any case, anything over 100-150 is pretty gimp in Tera / Aion.

In any case, I don't mean to argue. It's clear you're the kind of person is a true optimist, and even though you're eatting a [filtered] sandwich, you'll still try and find a way to say it's tasty.

Hope you guys get your own local server. Best of luck to you bro.
