Lol @ thread.

We just goto suck it up like usual.

As Fame said Lowerping is supporting TERA - though personally it makes no difference to my latency but does for several guildies.

I coulda swore the #1 reason was "If you wander away from the road something will likely rape you, kill you, and eat you, and may not be concerned with the order in which these things happen."

I actually found it quite good, I was getting between 150 - 200 ms (from Brisbane using Big Pond) . I mean nothing like 50 ms but better than the old 500 ms WOW used to give us.

Ok so your logic is flawwed for one I live in Australia, QLD to be specific and I've played MMO's for roughly 10 years all the way back to runescape and such and honestly if you call yourself competitive yet complain about having 400 ping you have no idea, Proxy's were made for a reason.

Second to that I've played korean for roughly 6 months done extremely well in PvE and PvP also on NA server I play Sorc and ofc you can tell there are latency differences but its not a huge deal at all I still win majority of my fights against skilled players and haven't lost a fight due to lagging out or latency issues where I can't use skills you cant even say that this will hinder us Australians, If you're truely competitive and good at mmo's 300-400 ping should not be an issue I know it sure as hell hasn't hindered me in any way.

I am getting 240-350 pings and it is fine. Of course I am playing berserker, the most lag tolerant class, I chose it partially due to my love of the old Arms warrior in wow but also due to knowing its lag tolerance.

I would suggest to Australians to avoid warrior and to a lesser extent slayer, as these classes are not very lag tolerant. A lancer will have to be more cautious and therefore have less threat (this becomes less of an issue at higher levels) and this can be overcome with faster reflexes. Healers are reactive and preemptive and not needed to worry about having 0 downtime on abilities. Sorcs make the majority of their damage from single big attacks in the form of fireblast and hailstorm with the occasional bomb/ice needle and aren't too worried about having 0 downtime. Slayer and warrior are the only classes that truly need 0 downtime (I don't have too much knowledge of archers or how they deal damage), and for these classes you will expect a large amount of dps loss due to delay.

Also please remember that although we get [filtered] latency, not every one in USA have good or even decent broadband. A lot of people are rural, have 1 provider who does a poor job, or simply get put on to a RIM with massive shaping.

Ive been thinking about this issue for a while. It has been the only reason stopping me from per-purchasing. But, after playing CBT4, i will definitely be buying this game. High ping or not, i just love this game too much.

Our pings, may not enable to be pro pvpers, but i will surely still have some amazing fun with this game.

My current game is TOR, and i have tried playing a few times since cbt4 finished. I cant stay logged on for more than 15 minutes at a time, i just get real bored, real quick. IMO tera just blows every other mmo away, and Im going to have a hard time playing anything else between now and launch.

Cut out the 4/5ths of post that was the "my credetionals" element to minimise space. Hope that's ok.

What you are saying is the same as "If you are really good at counterstrike 300-400 ping should not be an issue" To which my reply would be, it would depend what server you are on. If I never found this to be an issue I would wonder who I am playing against.

But hmm I see your point! If I called the low latency people I am vs'd really skilled, I would go to sleep feeling pretty pimp! So I guess in your own way you have come up with a viable solution for this whole latency problem!

Good job :)

I do find it strange that the people who are ok with high latency, fight against those who simply wish to do all they can to reduce it. Not sure what kind of mentality that is, It is likely in some textbook somewhere.

Dam! I was still waiting for the "tera troll team" to prove the 180ms to chicago!

150ms? wow....

go to www.pingtest.com ping test to Chicago! and show me it. /hats off to you if you get those results. You must get 100-110ms to Los Angeles then.

Here's mine : /

and Los Angeles I have gotten lower to Los Angeles before, closer to 140 but not since I moved to other side of town.

What ISP / connection are you with to get 150ms to Chicago?
