I only speak for myself I am not pressing my opinion on others. If I am the minority I accept it. I am not pushing my views and forcing you to play the way I want. If the system was removed would I still play? Yes. Would I get as much done? No. I would still be alright with it as Tera is a good and fun game.
Honestly removing the cross server LFG tool would actually slow progress in the game down perhaps keeping a few more subs around in the long term as it would perhaps take a bit longer for the entire server base that reached max level to gear out before new content is on the horizon.
I'll play the game either way.
There's a difference between making a LFG tool where it makes it easier to form groups, and making a LFG tool that forms groups, teleports you inside the instance, and crosses servers.
Thats a bit much and ridiculous.
Why would I ever need to leave a city when I can just port back n forth and win.
Bah ..lame.
I think ArchAngel has come in here and proved OUR point better than we were ever able to. It's an ugly truth, isn't it?
Cross-server, or anything that instantly teleports you - is bad for community, and breeds...him.
Actually LFG tool is essentially ez mode as stated by many. I understand the functionality of the tool, and its useful for gaining groups however... being teleported to the instance (so people can't walk anymore?), and also its cross servered (meaning no real community since you probably be paired up with random people you may never see again anyway)
What I would suggest to En Masse if they insist on a LFG tool is let it not be cross served, and also let it not warp people to instances. Let people use their mounts (I mean we get those for a reason) and other means of travel to get to places.
Also may I add LFG tool shouldn't even touch a PvP server.
MMOs have treated me poorly in the past. I've gone with no friends when trying to make them as everyone seems tied up in their own parties and friends lists. Even in the guilds. The mentality of people I play with were elitists and only played with the most geared and exellent players. If you were low on progression you were nothing more then a random name in the guild roster that had a personal officer note attached to that his progression was down.
MMOs have teached me to play this way. Maybe in the past things have been more fortunate for you all and actually had a consistent party or friends list of people that actually wanted to play with you.
Not all of us will have acquaintances that look forward to seeing us when we log on or even say hi mostly.
This is how you rely on playing by yourself. The MMO part comes in when you need something from the auction house or need to sell something to make gold.
LFG tool is absolutely ridiculous as others have stated.
People who want this kind of tool are those that play single player games, get to the content as fast as possible, beat the content and get fully geared without having to interact with anyone.
Then since they beat all the content, they get bored, quit and either move onto a new game (just like a single player game) or they go back to another MMO like WoW.
THIS is what kills MMO's.
If I've gathered anything from this thread, it's that pvp battlegrounds are bad and should be removed. All you will do at max level is sit in town, que up for them, and then be teleported to an arena. That kills open world pvp and turns the game into a lobby. Instead, there should be deathmatches only. This would greatly improve the community, since you would always need to talk to others and find people to pvp with.
