Instance matching is working as intended. This is what we come to expect in a modern day MMO when trying to put parties together on the fly.

The LFG(Y) is more like a classified section for putting groups together which is obviously more manual.

But why are people not using it more?

As it stands right now, there are plenty of BAM quests (5 man groups) and since making groups for such quests via the instance matching tool, I am confused as to why people do not use this tool?

Come on guys, use it. Its actually a good way to group up without having to spam LFG.

One small request to EME. Can you make the text box for a description just a little bit longer ?

People will say "laziness" or "stupidity". While this has some level of truth, varying on a case by case basis, it isn't a helpful answer.

The helpful answer:
Its a system hidden behind an extra layer of UI that requires user input on both ends, when other options are available. If bringing up the UI for the cross-server dungeon tool also brought up the (Y) UI it would go a long way to increase usage of that option.

People do use it, just most people are shy and/or lazy about making the first move. It is easier for them to respond to a shout on LFG than to open menu and check the party composition and ask the leader if they can join.

I see people using it every so often, I think that most simply would prefer to use the chat channels though. I only ever check it when queing in the LFD tool, and usually it is for quests I have already done, or ones that I am not on yet.

I see it used on Arachnea pretty often and I use it also.

when i first started i found it hard to actually whisper someone. Dunno why its easy for me now, jsut saying this games chat system doesnt have the commands i was use to.

The LFG(Y) tool has appeared, in one form or another, IN EVERY MMO. The result was ALWAYS the same -- Noone used it.

People are not stupid. People will always do what will give the most cost/benefit. In this case, it is much simpler and much more reliable to just spam chat. Only an idiot would use the LFG(Y) tool when spamming chat is more efficient and effective.



The LFG(Y) tool is like Communism: Great sounding on paper, terrible in practise.

You can use it to post what quest you want to get done, but you won't get many takers unless you also hit the "Publicize" button to use it to spam chat.
