snip.

However this type of behavior is completely uncalled for and should be discourged at all possible turns even if it means going to such extremes as giving players temporary LFD bans for it.

What a truly aristocratic response. The DPS peasants dare question their betters? Bah!

You're right, but it doesn't make my post any less true. Think of it this way, hot women can roll through life easily without education, money, or anything of true value, really, if they so desire. Why is this? Because beautiful women are a rarity and as such are treated better. Admittedly, a very vein example, but it's not a bad one.

...And just when I thought you couldn't be more insulting. *clap*

I know it sucks to get kicked from the group with no reason other than the tank didn't want you, but if you're going to play a DPS class you have to make peace with the fact that you will never be a commodity and that goes for pretty much every MMO. There will ALWAYS be a ton of people eager and willing to take your place the second you're not in it. 'Tis the plight of the DPS classes.

I know it's harsh, but if you don't want to deal with being the low man on the totem pole there really aren't many other options than playing a tanking role or a healing/support role. It's all part of the social aspect of the game.

Now, as for whether or not so-called "Lancer Bullying" (lol) should be a bannable offense, I couldn't disagree more. It's the tanks right as a tank (because they are rare in every MMO) to be a bit of a douche. Because he's fulfilling a role that requires more attention and dungeon knowledge he's rewarded with the ability to make some decisions. Same goes for healers.

The bottom line is this, if you want to play DPS, get used to going with the flow for the most part. However, if you prefer to lead, then you'd be better off tanking or healing. DPS will never be a commodity because it requires less attention and accountability than both tanking and healing.

Stories like this piss me off, I always vote before I kick someone that is usually after waiting till getting to a first boss which I believe is a fair amount of time. This is also after getting no verbal response from them.

I honestly try to be a team player and as nice as can be since I hear stories like this. Yes I would prefer to be the only heavy there so that gear goes to me but deep down I feel everyone else is the same. BUT I do not mention that nor do I kick them because i truly enjoy doing instances.

I am sorry you continue to run into such lancers but I assure you, not all of them are so heartless and take so much advantage for their rare presence.

its just greed , this also apply in real world.

I'm really sorry to hear you're having these troubles. However, as upsetting as this is banning players isn't the solution I would agree with.

TBH they deserve to have their darn IP's banned and their computers confiscated for being such selfish children, but ostracizing your paying customers is really bad for business.

They need to add another tanking class. This attitude is due to the rarity of the position needed for a party, so take away that exclusivity.

I mean, I'm not saying it isn't wrong or that it doesn't suck. I'm simply stating the reality of the situation. If you want to change it, start rolling healers and tanks. If enough people fill the roles, they won't be rare anymore.

Nothing I said isn't true.

Interesting that a couple people actually condone the Lancer acting that way. I wanted to point out that as a "DPS" I was not given the chance to even play. The Lancer simply refused to tank because he wanted all the plate.

Making more tanks would definitely improve the quality of LFD but than Lancers would get butt hurt that they can't DPS and their ques aren't instant anymore.

Except for your second paragraph, you have the right idea. The problem is the exclusivity. You just said it a little less frankly than I did. Hopefully, people will respond to that a little more positively.

Also, Lunada, in case I offended you, I promise that wasn't my intention. I believe the best way to make your point is to be as honest as possible. That was all I was trying to do.

I've found myself in more than a few situations needing 1 or 2 dps to complete my group. I've also seen Healer / Tank teams asking for DPS in /areachat for more than an hour, and also for parties. This has occurred during peak hours, and late at night.

You need Tanks, you need DPS'ers, and you need healers. Most of the time I'm waiting for a tank. However, that doesn't mean it's unheard of to not be looking for DPS as well. : /

I'm dreading this when my Zerker gets to 60. I usually queue with at least one other person, but I haven't made friends with too many tanks yet, so I have a feeling I'll run into this problem eventually. ;_;
