I think people need to stop and think about what makes Tera Tera:
-It's not BoE blues dropping from dungeons.
-It's not engines of mischief.
-It's not personal stores.
-It's not any other trivial things being changed in the game.
IT'S THE AMAZINGLY FUN ACTION-BASED COMBAT SYSTEM!!!!
How does this keep eluding people?
The change to BoP is a triple dose of WIN:
-It ensures that BoP blues drop more often from BAMs.
-It means crafted blues and oranges just became 1,000X more valuable because people will need them for enchanting, meaning, HOLY CRAP, crafting just became useful!
-It means RMT will be a dramatically less attractive option, meaning we'll see fewer bots and goldseller spam.
No, you won't get to trade BoE blues for other BoP blues, but an increased drop rate AND an increase in the item quality of BoPs means doing the hardest content will reward you with the best gear, and how is that a bad thing?
I find it ironic that people complain Tera is being "westernized" and made "like ezmode WoW" when BoP gear ensures that only players who brave the challenges reap the rewards, as opposed to casual players farming up cash and buying the best gear in the game from the AH.
Engines of mischief and Pet stores. These were neat, but why would ANYONE consider these a big enough deal that they'd make or break Tera for you? If you're not playing the game for the combat system or the political system, why are you playing at all?!
Lastly, no, Tera is not becoming WoW. I can't believe how often people say this. Tera will not become WoW until they add tab targeting (which is never going to happen). BoP is a good system, one that benefits the playerbase in MANY ways, and for those who say that WoW's crafting is worthless because of BoP, guess what? WoW doesn't have an enchanting system that encourages EVERY player to buy blue/orange items just to use them in enchanting.
To conclude, the sky isn't falling, the game is going to be amazing, and Tera is, rest assured, STILL Tera.
