Launcher -TERA has stopped working...

Looking around I haven't seen this come up yet...

After installing the launcher and it updating itself I try to login. As soon as I hit the login button windows pops up with a "Tera has stopped working" error.

I am running the launcher as admin. I have uninstalled/reinstalled. Cleared temp and cached files. And with the same usernames/passwords it works fine and downloads on my g/f computer.

We have similar computers...
Phenom II X4
8GB Ram
ATI 5750HD
Win 7 64bit

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I'm getting the same issue. I put in a support ticket.

The one thing we have in common is Win 7 64bit.

One time it has worked, but I entered my password wrong. Oops.

Where did you install it? I can't remember if this is what's been happening to people who changed their install from the default directory, or if that was a different issue. So late. So little sleep.

I've tried it in a few locations other than the default.

Been playing around with compatibility settings, locations, etc.

Frustrating but hopefully the support ticket will help get it resolved.

Did you try it IN the default? Pretty sure it's C.

Sorry, I meant I've tried it in a few other locations as well as the default.

Ahh, gotchas. That may have indeed been the cause of a different problem. Hopefully your Support ticket gets answered soon with some help. :)

Well, with my OCD I have managed to track down the culprit file: StmOCX.dll

I've sent the system logs and my system information into support to go with my ticket, hopefully this will help get it sorted out faster. :-)

As a test I downloaded a different StmOCX.dll and it appears to be downloading the client, so we'll see. I don't want to post a link as I don't know if this will be bad for my client and will end up in a redownload, don't want to put someone else through that. :-P

Ironically, I just had this problem as well, or similar at least. After my download/install finished, I hit "Play". The Tera.exe started up, was showing in my task manager, but wasn't on my screen. I waited, but nothing happened. I killed the process, and restarted the launcher. That's when it started crashing with the mentioned above windows crash error when I would hit "Play". Luckily, after 2 PC restarts (first one made my mouse go nuts) the game started up fine. Got to server select. Hopefully no more problems arise.

But if anyone else figures out the exact problem, or hears back from Support, yell with the results please. :)

Hmmm, I decided to give this a try and first delete StmOCX.dll and the launcher didn't crash after I hit "Login". However, it could not actually login because it could not create a device signature. I decided to grab the StmOCX.dll file my gf has working on her computer but it still crashes with that error as soon as I'm hitting Login.
