Alright, most of you are going to shrug this off as trolling, but, it honestly has me a bit irked.
I understand most of you are coming off hot from the WoW-Train, but, jesus christ people, they're not called "Toons", if we're going to be graduating from video games here, let's get our terms correct, alright?
^ Lol.
I kind of agree with you. I was a bit confused of why everyone in the TERA community used the word "toon" instead of character. I was thinking in the back of my head, "Is this the new evolution of MMO-talk or something?"
I've never played WoW so I guess that would explain it. xD
Toon came from way before WoW....
would you rather me call it my paperdoll? it came from the same game...
:(
Bunnyrice don't listen to this person..it didn't come from WoW!
"toons" was first said in the first mmos...mainly EQ and AC.
back when mmo's didnt cater to this new generation of rpg player. i will always call them toons, that is what we used to call them, i wont let wow ruin that for me!
This wasn't intended to become a flame war, and okay, maybe its origins aren't from WoW, but, we can all agree in todays world it's most prevalent in WoW.
For better or worse WoW has cemented the term. Given that a majority of the playerbase for any new game now comes from WoW, it's here to stay unfortunately.
/facepalm
Anyways, my point still stands. If you're interested in cartoon graphics, maybe you're on the wrong video game. You're using a character, not a toon.
