I'm really just using this as a standoff game till Guildwars 2 releases. I"m excited for it. As I've not played a MMORPG since Idk..8 months ago when I finally deleted my WOW account after like 6-7 years of dedicated play.

I will say alot of people forget how wow was. I gotta agree on that point. I remember when you would take the zeplin from org to UC and 6-10 times You'd end up dead...Because you'd randomly fall through the ship..lol And there was many many more issues just as bad as this. But everyone game it a shot. I gave rift a chance. Played it till cap. Got bored. Played SWTOR til cap, also got bored. Was lacking something special. Hopefully TERA can fill that void. I really am looking for a good MMORPG.

P.S. I know people talked of Eve, I love the small fanbase because most of the carebear noobs don't last long enough to complain. If they do, I just blow them up or war dec their corp for a few weeks ^_^

Put in your 49.99, play the OBT & If you dont like it request a refund before may 1st. They WILL refund you, this isnt NCSOFT with their "no refund" BS. :) or use the Open beta code for the OBT to play for free trial.

You WILL keep your characters ;;

I doubt they'll give you a refund after playing the beta one day before? If that's the case, everyone could pre-order to play today and then request a refund tomorrow, right?

If you cancel before May 1st then you get a refund. OBT is to try the game, forcing people to stay after they've tried it and didn't care for it isn't how EME seems to operate.

I have a feeling most people are just going to play this for a month or 2 kinda like when SWTOR came out.

You would be wrong... this is light years ahead of SWTOR.

The closed beta has been highly successful and it is a high probability that everyone here has played the CBT at least once prior to OBT's release.

So why the sudden concern that it will be a "make-it, or break-it" situation now, rather than before?

Cause people like to stir up suspense out of boredom from waiting, probably.

true...

speaking of people and their ways... I've been playing MMOs since I was about 16 or 17, when RO and runescape were huge, and I have yet to grasp the definition of what "dying" means. lol

- if servers merge = dead
- if servers fail to merge = dead
- if a patch comes out and changes an aspect of the game = dead
- if content is not released fast enough = dead
- if people's friends stop playing = is dying
- if a single individual loses interest = dead
- if company does not fix a "problem" or does not address a concern = starts to die
- and more...

Dying is when the specific individual claiming it no longer enjoys the game, thus it should now be deemed dead by humanity as a whole. Obviously.

I just think it's a shame that so many idiots forget what Wow was like when it released in 2004. It was shocking. Appaullingly bad. Everybody stuck with it because there were no real alternatives at the time.

This is always such a horrible argument. In 2004, the MMO genre was still in it's infancy in terms of technology. Developers have SO much more to work with now. Comparing a game made in 2004 with a game made in 2010 (or whenever this game was made) is a terrible argument.

It's like comparing a cell phone from 1980 to one in 2010. They were huge clunky piles of [filtered] that rarely worked in 1980 so it must be okay if someone releases one in the same state today.

Makers of MMO's understand that they aren't competing with WoW from 2004; they're competing with WoW in it's current state.

I was with you until you just had to use that stupid 'Carebear noobs' remark, then your whole post to just a meager.. Meh
