MASSIVE frame rate loss since patch, game is unplayable

I was capped at 80+ pre patch with all settings maxed. After the patch I'm getting sub 10 FPS starting at the character select screen and it continues when in game.

What gives?

While i have noticed a drop in FPS recently, it has not been as marked as yours.

Have you tried restting your UI? I know that, as it currently stands, the UI is causing serious fps issues. Maybe this is your cause? I don't know, but it is worth a try.

How do you reset the UI? I'll give it a try.

Seriously no one else is having this problem?

I liked this game but there's no way I'm subbing if this is what I can expect from small patches.

Hey Real,

There was no patch last night, it was just a few config changes around chat, zone channel, daily quest reset time and character transfers (http://tera.enmasse.com/news/patch-notes/patch-172903)

If you're seeing a huge drop in FPS talk to our CS folks and they might be able to help walk you through basic troubleshooting to see if something else is going on that is just now starting to show up.

Thanks,
-Chager

This may be true, however, my performance (FPS) in instances is noticeably awful compared to open world gameplay. It was better today that it has been in some cases. I get 50-60 (have my framerate capped at 60 via .ini) out of combat, once engaged with a BAM in an instance, it can go as low as 13. This makes absolutely no sense to me, but if I disabled the UI in mid-combat, my FPS can increase to as high as 25-30 while in combat.

He does have a legitimate complaint, and yes, I know that the UI issue is already being looked into by you guys.

Please hurry with a fix. :)

Try alt-tabbing out of the game and back. Sometimes your video card doesn't detect that a game is running so it's clocks reduced to low power 2d mode. At least that's what happens to me (Sapphire HD 7850).

I monitor my clocks constantly via an app on my second screen, and they don't seem to change once in 3d mode. I'll give this a try though. I noticed that my GPU usage will drop randomly to 0%, usually accompanied by a massive drop in FPS, but it appears that it may just be a display issue. per perhaps there is something to it..

Instances and lag are a different matter. Please see this post for info:

Instances have reduced fps and increased ping. Two different things you have to look into, Chager.
